In South Jersey, I’ve seen how hard families work to put food on the table. Trump's Big Ugly Bill - which is now law - cuts SNAP, hurting our neighbors and leaving food banks scrambling to fill the gap.   You can’t call yourself pro-family while taking food off kids’ plates.
During #PrimeDay, I'm remembering the three New Jerseyans who died working at an Amazon warehouse in 2022. As a former electrician, I know firsthand what it's like to lose a coworker on the job, and I won't stop fighting to end preventable tragedies.
Thanks to everyone who joined me for tonight’s telephone town. I’ve hosted over 100 town halls during my time in Congress, and it’s one of my favorite parts of the job. Thanks to the 12,000+ people who joined the call!
While most see #PrimeDay as a race for deals, I’m thinking of warehouse workers facing tough, unsafe conditions. My Warehouse Worker Protection Act will require companies to share quota rules and ban quotas that block access to meals, breaks, or bathrooms. Workers deserve safety and respect.
As a union electrician, I know just how dangerous of a job lineworkers have. Today, I helped introduce a resolution to recognize the 120,000+ lineworkers who work through storms and disasters to power our communities with Lineworker Appreciation Day.
It's bad enough that Republicans are giving even more tax breaks to billionaires and big corporations.   What's worse is that working Americans will pay the price.   17 million Americans will lose their health care. Millions will go hungry. It's unconscionable.
The Supreme Court just gave Trump the go-ahead to slash federal jobs with no regard for the work they do for the public. That means fewer people to process Social Security, care for our veterans, & keep services running. Justice Jackson called it the “dismantling” of the government Congress created.
In Camden County, we’re restoring the Benjamin Cooper Tavern and transforming it into the American Revolution Museum of Southern New Jersey. I helped secure $500,000 in federal funding for the project, so we can honor the values we fought for: democracy, freedom, and justice.
The VA is quietly cutting 30,000 staff by the end of the year through hiring freezes, early retirements, and failing to fill needed vacancies. Veterans are already facing long wait times and red tape. How does cutting staff help veterans? It doesn’t. www.cbsnews.com/news/veteran...
While shoppers score #PrimeDay deals, Amazon warehouse workers face some of their most dangerous conditions all year. My Warehouse Worker Protection Act would ban quotas that risk injury. No delivery is worth a worker’s safety.
Trump is freezing $143M in federal school funds meant for New Jersey's students. When we defund teacher training, after-school programs, and support for English learners, we defund our kids' futures. We need leadership that invests in public schools, not undermines them.
Calling all future tech leaders! The 2025 Congressional App Challenge is now open to middle & high school students in #SouthJersey. Register today and start building your app. Deadline: October 30 at 12:00 PM ET Register and find out more: www.congressionalappchallenge.us
90 years ago today, workers were granted the right to organize, bargain collectively, and join unions. The National Labor Relations Act gave workers a voice and shaped fair labor standards for generations. It is time to pass the #PROAct so workers everywhere can access the rights they deserve.
