“Catch of the Day” might be over, but the devastation caused by ICE—families separated, lives destroyed, children traumatized—is unforgivable. People are tired of seeing this out-of-control DHS wreak havoc on our communities. Democrats will do everything we can to hold them accountable. #AbolishICE
📢US Rep. Chellie Pingree (D-ME 1) @pingree.house.gov decries ICE's assault on Mainers‼️ 🔊Listen to the @msignorile.bsky.social Show LIVE weekdays 3pm-6pm ET and On Demand at Signorile.com
Outside the facility, community members are stepping in where the federal government has failed, showing up with food, jackets and basic care for their neighbors. They shouldn’t have to. DHS's reckless policies are making our already broken immigration system worse—and destroying countless lives.
I was in Burlington, MA today for an oversight visit of the ICE field office, following some concerning reports about the conditions there. We've heard some people were released with no way to get home, without adequate clothing, and without personal effects or vital documents. That's unacceptable.
It's now crystal clear that the Administration cares more about Big Chemical profits than the health of Americans. The batshit crazy EO Trump signed last night says the production of glyphosate is "critical" for national security. BULLSHIT. This is outrageous. How the hell is this MAHA?!?
Instead of protecting the public, Republicans want to give them and other chemical giants the green light to continue poisoning people without being held accountable. This is not how you “Make America Healthy Again.” I’ll be fighting to get this language OUT of the Farm Bill.
Republicans love to talk about “toning down the rhetoric." When a member of their caucus spews disgusting, racist vitriol like this? Crickets. Political violence, xenophobia, and attacks on Muslim communities are rising, and Republican leaders are enabling it. He should resign immediately.
Detaining immigrants with no criminal records. Smashing windows. Arresting mothers in front of their kids. The Sheriff said it best: ICE’s tactics are “bush league.” They're terrorizing communities, traumatizing innocent people and making a mockery of law enforcement. Impeach Noem. Abolish ICE.
Jesse Jackson was a fierce advocate for equality, economic justice, and human dignity. His ability to bring people together was truly remarkable. He didn’t just advocate for change. He created it—and made our country better. Rest in Power, Reverend. May your legacy forever inspire. #KeepHopeAlive
One of the best traditions in Maine: waking up on Feb. 14 to a city covered in hearts. The love, kindness, and joy spread each year by Kevin Fahrman, the infamous "Valentine's Day Bandit" lives on even after his passing in 2023. Today, and every day, #BeAKevin ❤️ Happy Valentine's Day, Maine!
The fear this Admin has caused, just to meet some arbitrary quota from Stephen Miller, is having a paralyzing impact on our communities. They're destroying lives and livelihoods—and doing real damage to our cultural institutions. America has never been perfect. But we HAVE to be better than this.
Part of what makes Merrill Auditorium so special is the cultural dynamism of its programs. Trump’s insane immigration policies are taking a serious toll. A vast majority of immigrants in Maine are here legally. The artistic diversity they bring—the music, art, and stories—makes our state better.
Voter fraud is extremely rare. In Maine, everyone has to prove their identity when registering. It’s also a felony for noncitizens to vote. This isn’t about “election integrity.” It’s about making it as hard as possible for people to cast a ballot. Why? They know it's the only way they can win.
This is a voter-suppression bill. Period. If it becomes law you won't be able to register without one of the following: ⛔️ A $130 passport (poll tax) ⛔️ A birth certificate + photo ID w/ matching names (this will affect tens of millions of married women) ⛔️ Military service papers I voted HELL NO.
The world is embracing renewable energy. We’re going backwards, because Republicans care more about Big Oil than the future of our planet. Make no mistake: When this moronic regime is gone, Democrats will ensure the EPA returns to its core mission—and that America is back on the side of science.
I made a friendly bet with Rep. Newhouse: If the Patriots won SBLX, he’d bring me some Washington cherries; if the Seahawks won, I’d bring him some Maine blueberries. Let’s just say it was a long walk to Dan's office. Congrats to the Seahawks! (We’ll always have the Malcolm Butler interception.)
