I had a great conversation with @macfarlanenews.bsky.social about the rapidly changing media landscape and what the future may look like.
As more corporate networks are consolidated under billionaire ownership, independent media is thriving.
Scott MacFarlane is a well-respected journalist who recently left his corporate news job to become Chief Washington Correspondent at @meidastouch.com.

We urged him to update this policy to ensure that additional factors are taken into account, including the loss of a state-level license, so that what happened at Ridglan Farms can never happen anywhere else again.
The current policy only relies on whether a facility holds a USDA Class A license, meaning Ridglan Farms, a beagle breeding facility cited for hundreds of animal welfare violations and forced to surrender its state license, still qualifies to supply animals for NIH-funded research.
