If Republicans fail to save healthcare: Nearly 300,000 people in Massachusetts will face higher premiums and over 400,000 will lose healthcare entirely. Trump & Republicans are making people sicker & more vulnerable. They must reopen the govt & address this healthcare crisis.
Trump thought he could use the government shutdown he created to purge our federal workforce. The law says otherwise. This is a victory for our dedicated federal workers & we won’t stop until every federal worker unjustly fired by this Administration has been reinstated.
JUST IN: A federal judge has indefinitely blocked President Trump’s efforts to lay off thousands of federal employees amid the government shutdown.
At Orchard Gardens, a public school in Roxbury, I asked the school nurses what the #1 issue is for kids who come to them. Their response? Hunger. Republicans are worsening this crisis every day through their government shutdown and policy CHOICES. This is 100% preventable.
Delays, cancellations, & long lines. The GOP shutdown is impacting our airports and leaving air traffic controllers & TSA agents without pay, including at Boston Logan. Republicans need to reopen the government, pay federal workers, keep our airports running & skies safe.
It's been over a month since Adelita Grijalva was duly elected to Congress. But Speaker Johnson is denying her constituents representation and refusing to swear her in because she is the last signature needed to force a vote to release the Epstein files. Shameful.
I'm grateful that such a vibrant Jamaican, Haitian, Cuban, and Dominican community call the #MA7 home. As Hurricane Melissa makes its way through the Caribbean, I'm keeping them and their loved ones close in prayer.
Trump's CHOICE to cut off food assistance in November isn't just cruel—it's illegal. The money is there, and letting families starve during this GOP shutdown is a violent policy choice. I'm glad @massago.bsky.social is suing to force this Administration to fund SNAP & keep families fed.
Attorney General Andrea Campbell and 21 other state attorneys general filed suit against the Trump administration for “unlawfully” suspending SNAP payments set to run out Nov. 1 amid the ongoing government shutdown, officials said.
Under Republicans' govt shutdown, families could stop receiving food assistance on Nov. 1. Trump has the authority & money to fund SNAP benefits through November, but he's currently choosing not to. We're calling on the @USDA to reverse course and act NOW to feed our families.

What our Chelsea schools have experienced in the last 10 months is harrowing. Masked agents abducting our students, parents, & neighbors. The freezing of federal funds our schools rely on. I held a wellness check-in at Chelsea High because we're choosing community over chaos.

It is an injustice for disabled women to be paid just 56 cents for every dollar paid to nondisabled men. I introduced a resolution with Congresswoman Sheila Cherfilus-McCormick to commemorate Disabled Women’s Equal Pay Day and affirm that disabled women deserve to be treated with dignity & respect.
Black boy joy is beautiful and should be a birthright. I joined community leaders and families to celebrate Black boy brilliance at Roxbury's Black Boy Joy Summit. It was a joyous day of workshops, inspiration, and empowerment for our Black boys that call the #MA7 home.

"We are closing up Democrat programs that we disagree with, and they’re never going to open again.” No, these are not Democratic or Republican programs—these are life-saving resources that help families make ends meet. This is illegal & everyone will be harmed.
Trump is weaponizing the Republican government shutdown to attack students with disabilities. He's firing the federal workers that protect and enforce the rights of students with disabilities. We won’t let him get away with this.
I called on @nationalgrid.bsky.social & @eversource.bsky.social to keep electricity & heat on for federal workers & contractors while they miss paychecks during the GOP shutdown.   Nat. Grid responded with a payment plan opportunity—call 1-800-322-3223 for more.   I'll keep fighting to support you.
