This Women’s History Month, I visited the Harvard Kent Elementary School in Charlestown to read ‘ABC What Can She Be?’ 📚 TY to Ms. Collings & her amazing Pre-K students for the warm welcome. And a special shoutout to our educators, school psychologists, & librarians!

Kitty Dukakis was an incredible role model in authenticity, transparency, and vulnerability. Her deeply personal advocacy for mental health and substance use awareness helped remove the stigma & change our political discourse. My heart is with Gov. Dukakis, John, Andrea, Kara, and their family.
Breaking news: Kitty Dukakis, tireless advocate and political spouse who candidly shared her struggles, has died
Attempting to dismantle @usedgov.bsky.social is a despicable and unlawful move from a wannabe king who means harm to everyone in America. It's an assault on students and educators that will undermine public education, threaten civil rights, and harm our most vulnerable. My full statement:

Rep. Pressley Condemns Trump Executive Order Dismantling Education Department (1/2):

“The federal role in education is both essential and clear. For decades, the federal government has provided essential funding to our schools and our students. Federal dollars and programs address teacher shortages, administer financial aid, support students with disabilities, collect data on disparities, enforce civil rights protections, keep the lights on in our public schools, and so much more.

“That is the federal role. Dictating what can be taught, gutting essential programs, tearing books off the shelves of school libraries, and using the bully pulpit to attack our kids and taunt their race, gender, or who they love as Donald Trump is trying to do here is clearly not the federal role.
Rep. Pressley Condemns Trump Executive Order Dismantling Education Department (2/2):

“This latest executive action is despicable and unlawful behavior from a man who wants to be king and wants to harm everyone who calls this country home. It is an assault on students and educators that will undermine public education, threaten civil rights, and harm our most vulnerable students in Massachusetts and across America.

“Congress created the Department of Education and only Congress can abolish it. We will fight this every step of the way, in the courts and in community. Every child deserves a free and fair public education—that is foundational to our democracy and the American dream.”
Our seniors deserve to age with dignity. But with Musk and Trump trying to end Meals on Wheels and Social Security, it's no wonder the word "SWINDLE" was top of mind for them. It's always a joy to meet with our elders at the Randolph Intergenerational Community Center and play a game of scrabble.

Haitian TPS holders have been living in the U.S. for years—growing families, starting businesses & serving the country. Ending TPS & deporting them back to a humanitarian crisis is a death sentence. That's why we’re calling on DHS to reverse its decision. www.bloomberg.com/news/article...
After weeks of blocking food, water & fuel, the Israeli govt has resumed its bombing of Gaza—slaughtering over 400 Palestinians & putting the remaining hostages at risk. Unconscionable. The US must stop funding this genocide & use every diplomatic tool to restore the ceasefire.
It’s never a bad day at work when your awesome Congresswoman stops by! Thank you, @pressley.house.gov, for bringing down the house at our inaugural Served With Pryde community lunch and proving that everyone is Irish on St. Patrick’s Day!
Happy St. Patrick's Day! Such a joy to join our elders at The Pryde to celebrate the culture & contributions of our Irish American & LGBTQ+ siblings. And it’s great to see our community project funding dollars in action giving our local elders an opportunity to thrive in community.

We had a phenomenal community lunch and conversation at #ThePryde yesterday. Thank you, @pressley.house.gov, for fighting for our Community Project Funding and for standing with our beloved LGBTQ+ elders on St. Patricks Day and every day!

Elon Musk and Donald Trump are ripping food out of the mouths of our students who deserve healthy meals to thrive in and out of the classroom. This will be devastating for Massachusetts and the cruelty is the point. www.wbur.org/news/2025/03...
The unlawful arrest and detainment of Mahmoud Khalil should be a five-alarm fire for anyone who cares about free speech and our democracy. We're demanding answers and we cannot allow this abuse of power to go unchecked.
🚨BREAKING: With @raskin.house.gov & @scanlon.house.gov, I’m leading 100+ House Democrats in demanding answers on Mahmoud Khalil’s arrest. Trump’s attempt to deport Khalil is authoritarian & an attack on the First Amendment. We won’t sit quietly as his administration tries to dismantle free speech.
The Republicans’ budget bill that passed the Senate is nothing short of devastating. And every Representative & Senator who voted to support it has let down the communities that elected them to be their voice in Congress. My full statement:
A graphic cover that reads: Rep. Pressley’s Statement on Senate Passage of Republican Government Budget Bill
Rep. Pressley’s Statement on Senate Passage of Republican Government Budget Bill (1/2):

“The Republicans’ budget bill that just passed the Senate is nothing short of devastating. Every Representative and Senator who voted to support it has let down the communities that elected them to be their voice in Congress. Rather than listen to the pleas from constituents in town halls across the country, Republicans chose to ignore them.

“When our communities begin to feel the harm of this reckless budget, there will be no one to blame but Republicans licking the boots of Donald Trump and Elon Musk and the handful of Democrats who chose not to fight. Tonight, I am thinking of the kids in pediatric cancer trials, the parents trying to stretch their dollars to cover groceries and the federal workers wronged by this cruel Trump White House and all of the people across this country who are failed by this budget.
Rep. Pressley’s Statement on Senate Passage of Republican Government Budget Bill (2/2):

“I voted NO on this bad-faith budget bill. I refuse to be complicit in Republicans’ attack on our most vulnerable, and I’m grateful to the overwhelming number of Democratic colleagues in both chambers who held the line and joined us in opposing this disgraceful legislation. I will always center the people, and I will continue standing in the gap and fighting this Administration like lives depend on it, because they do.”
