Three children and a teacher were shot and killed at an Oregon elementary school yesterday. My thoughts are with the Silver Rail Elementary School community, and my deepest condolences go to the victims and their families.

This week, I joined volunteers from the Chicago Food Depository to pack meals for those in need. We packed over 11,000 lbs. of food feeing over 9,000 people.
At a time when so many Chicagoans saw their SNAP benefits cut from the Big Ugly Law, we need to ban together and help those most vulnerable.
I’m glad that @congressmanraja.bsky.social, his family, and his entire temple are safe. I hope the perpetrator is brought to justice and I commend the community members who reported the plot, likely saving many lives.
The recent wave of anti-Indian racism is deeply concerning. More below.
I’m cosponsoring @joaquincastrotx.bsky.social’s Stop the Settlements Act to stop the illegal land grabs in Gaza and the West Bank.
This bill will deploy sanctions to halt the construction of new settlements and stop the expansion of existing Israeli settlements on Palestinian land.
If the President really wanted to lower prices for Americans, he would bring our troops home and end his war with Iran immediately.
There’s no other solution.
Survivors who speak out display incredible strength and bravery in pursuit of justice. I stand with this woman and applaud the young women who stepped in to protect and defend their friend.
I urge the University to complete a thorough investigation and ensure any perpetrators face consequences.
A 21-year-old woman in Chicago reported that she was sexually assaulted by a man at a fraternity house near the University of Chicago early Sunday, according to the Chicago Police Department. https://cnn.it/47ixiT5
Trump’s recent actions on Ukraine prove what we have always known: his top priority is pleasing Putin first, everything else second.
Today is Wadee Remembrance Day in Illinois. Wadee Alfayoumi was a six-year-old American boy who was brutally murdered in a hate crime targeting his Palestinian and Muslim identity.
Donald Trump has spent a decade attacking Rep. Ilhan Omar with disgusting, racist smears, putting her safety at serious risk.
This raid was an abuse of power intended to intimidate Rep. Omar and send a message to Trump's political opponents ahead of the midterms.
I stand with @ilhanmn.bsky.social
On Indigenous Peoples’ Day, we honor the contributions of Native Americans & Indigenous Peoples everywhere.
Indigenous Peoples have inhabited North America, or Turtle Island, for thousands of years. Today, we honor their central role in the American story & continue to fight for justice.
I enjoyed meeting with our friends at the Norwood Park Senior Center!
It’s always important to meet with our community and learn how we in Congress can better advocate for our elder constituents.
October 10 is World Mental Health Day🌎️
Everyone deserves access to affordable, accessible mental health care. This World Mental Health Day, please join me in fighting to end the stigma and make mental health care more affordable for all.
Mike Ditka was a hall of fame player, coach, and Chicago icon respected by fans and foes alike. His intensity and authenticity embodied the spirit of Chicago and left a lasting impression on football that won’t be forgotten.
My thoughts are with all the family, friends, and fans who loved Da Coach.
Pete Hegseth’s decision to livestream an execution by firing squad is barbaric. Terrorist groups post executions online, Not civilized nations. We’re the United States of America, not ISIS.
This absolutely must not happen, and Hegseth must be removed from his position immediately.
My thoughts are with the family, friends, and colleagues of CTA janitor Julian Mobley, who was killed yesterday at a Green Line station. The perpetrator must be brought to justice.
I want to thank everyone for attending my office’s semi-annual Senior Resource Fair this summer!
Twice a year, I host federal, state, and local government officials in a free fair, connecting our elderly residents to resources in our community. Thanks for making this one a big hit!
Yesterday, ICE fired at least seven rounds at and wounded a man in New York City—all while his five-year-old son was in the back seat of the car.
ICE has invaded our cities and unleashed violence everywhere they've gone. First Chicago, then Minneapolis, and now New York.
I joined the Garfield Park Community Council as one of the first planting volunteers to help with their Community Orchard!
Together, we planted 50 trees of over a dozen different varieties. I’m incredibly thankful for this community, and everyone who comes together to fight for our planet🌳🌎️
Trump’s Attorney General Todd Blanche is weaponizing the DOJ to drum up false charges against an aide from Trump’s first term—all because she dared to tell the truth about January 6th.
I was trapped in the House Gallery on J6. No effort by Trump and his friends can erase what happened that day.
Trump’s economy is so terrible that he’s throwing measly checks at voters.
With many Americans living paycheck to paycheck, $90 isn’t going to cut it. We need to end the war with Iran and bring prices down NOW.
