Jack Reed

John Francis Reed is an American lawyer and politician serving as the senior United States senator from Rhode Island, a seat he was first elected to in 1996. A member of the Democratic Party, he was the U.S. representative for Rhode Island's 2nd congressional district from 1991 to 1997. Reed graduated from the United States Military Academy and Harvard University, serving in the U.S. Army as an active officer from 1971 to 1979. He is the dean of Rhode Island's congressional delegation since 1999 upon the death of John Chafee.

I’m focused on helping Rhode Island recover as quickly as possible from this massive blizzard. That’s why I’m joining my colleagues in the delegation to ensure federal resources are available to assist our communities & state with storm recovery.
Now that SCOTUS struck down Trump’s faux-emergency tariffs, it’s time to return money back to American people. Trump Admin must establish a swift & fair refund system & work w/ Dems to lower prices.
February 20th will forever be a painful day in Rhode Island’s history. Today we pause to remember the victims of the Station Nightclub fire and share our gratitude for those who rushed to help and all who’ve worked to improve fire safety and make a difference for those impacted.
Thanks to Soni Guzman Stokes, Keith Stokes, RI Black Heritage Society & all who joined today's Black History Month celebration. Fascinating to learn more about the Black experience in RI during the Gilded Age & how Black RIers helped shape civil rights & social change nationwide.
