We must do more to prevent horrific mass shootings like this one. We cannot keep living like this. Children deserve to go to school without fearing for their lives. (2/2)
My heart is shattered by the devastating news of yet another school shooting, this time targeting a Catholic school in Minneapolis. All those affected by this horrific act of violence are in my thoughts, and I’m grateful to the first responders on the scene. (1/2)
Four years ago today, 13 American servicemembers were killed in a brutal terrorist attack at Abbey Gate in Afghanistan. Our nation will always remember and honor their incredible courage and sacrifice.
Hardworking NV families are being squeezed by record-high housing costs, and one part of the problem is corporate investors who buy up homes and drive up prices. (1/2)
Washington Republicans cut nearly a trillion dollars from Medicaid to pay for more tax breaks for billionaires. Now, more than 100,000 Nevadans are at risk of losing their health care coverage. It’s a shameful betrayal of hardworking families.
Glad to meet with Pres. Klippenstein and CSN leadership and students. We talked about the importance of TRIO funding, which helps support college students in need. CSN has already lost critical funding because of TRIO cuts, but I’ll keep fighting to restore it and deliver the resources they need.
I had a great visit to @culinary226.bsky.social’s new health center in North Las Vegas! This state-of-the-art facility is providing accessible care to tens of thousands of Culinary workers and their families.
Proud to announce Nevada will be receiving $1.7+ million I helped secure to lower energy bills for hardworking families. High prices are squeezing Nevadans, and I’ll keep working to lower costs in any way I can.
As Nevada’s only level one trauma center, UMC provides critical health care services to families in our community.   I visited UMC today to hear directly how they’ll be impacted by Washington Republicans’ Medicaid cuts.
Did you know the Pony Express went through Nevada? I visited one of its stops while I was in Genoa, NV.    This town is full of history and I want to thank Nevada State Parks for their work telling Genoa’s story.
PBS Reno is a critical part of our local community, from their childhood education programs to their series like Wild Nevada that showcase the beauty of our state & help boost tourism. I’ll keep fighting to restore the funding PBS Reno relies on.
One of my top priorities is working to make housing more affordable for Nevadans. It was great to visit The Ridge at Sun Valley – a new affordable housing complex made possible by federal support. I’ll keep working with advocates across NV to help all hardworking Nevadans afford a place to live.
Cost should never be a barrier to life-saving medical care – and no one should have to choose between seeing a doctor and putting food on the table.   I’ll keep fighting to make sure medical care is accessible and affordable for ALL Nevadans.
Unions built Nevada – and the Nevada AFL-CIO has never stopped fighting for fair wages, better benefits, and a safe workplace for hardworking Nevadans.   Great to join labor leaders from across our state and discuss how I’m working to lower prices and create opportunity for workers & their families.
Did you know one of the largest lithium deposits in North America is right here in Nevada? I joined local leaders to see the progress being made at Thacker Pass and hear how this mine is creating good-paying jobs and supporting our nation’s energy independence.
The Affordable Care Act enhanced premium tax credits help families afford health insurance – but these tax credits are set to expire this year, making premium costs go up.   We need to stop this price hike by extending the enhanced premium tax credits.
Whether it’s introducing legislation to bring more doctors and nurses to rural communities or fighting back against Medicaid cuts that will take funding away from rural hospitals, I’m always working to make health care accessible for ALL Nevadans. (2/2)
Yesterday, I stopped by Pershing General Hospital to check in with staff and community leaders and talk about how we can work together to make sure rural hospitals like this one have the resources & funding they need. (1/2)
