This week, I met with ranchers losing their grazing operations due to the expansion, and heard firsthand their serious concerns. I am committed to making sure these issues are addressed by the Navy and that they receive the fair compensation they deserve.
Churchill County is home to ranchers who have lived and run cattle here for generations. As the U.S. Navy expands the Fallon Range Training Complex, it is essential that they ensure that the concerns of local families are heard and addressed before implementation is complete.
I also visited the Fernley Community Center with Mayor McIntyre and toured their new Boys and Girls Club, and the site of the new Early Learning Center, which will expand child care services to more families in the area.
I look forward to bringing their stories back with me to the Senate.
In Northern Nevada this week, I met with Mayor Tedford and partners in Fallon’s tourism sector to discuss how we can keep our tourism economy running, and visited the Stillwater National Wildlife Refuge to see firsthand the challenges they face in water procurement.
The best part of my job is traveling around the state to hear directly from Nevadans about the challenges they’re facing and how I can continue advocating on their behalf in Washington.
This week, I returned to Fallon to see how this project is coming along!
Nevada is facing a dire shortage of doctors and nurses, especially in rural communities. I’m doing everything I can to ensure our state has more medical professionals, which is why I secured federal funding to help expand Western Nevada College’s Fallon Rural Nursing Program.
Eid Mubarak! Wishing Nevada's Muslim community and all those celebrating around the world a joyful Eid al-Adha.
I’m introducing a bipartisan bill with Senator Cornyn to clamp down on this illegal practice, and I’ll continue to work across party lines to protect American families.
Cartels in Mexico are profiting off of stolen fuel and crude oil, enabling them to sustain their illegal operations on both sides of the border.
As a Jewish American, I’ve been targeted and experienced hate simply because of my faith.
Now – more than ever – we need to take a stand to protect all religious communities from hate and violence.
This facility will help train more nurses and expand Nevada’s rural health care services so Nevadans in all corners of our state can get the care they deserve.
I’m glad to see the progress being made on the expansion of Western Nevada College’s rural nursing program in Fallon, made possible by federal funding I secured.
Making it harder for immigrants to get a green card through arbitrary requirements is yet another attempt by the Trump Administration to continue its cruel mass deportation agenda. This new policy will tear apart more families, hurt our economy, and must be overturned.
Memorial Day is a chance to come together and honor the men and women in uniform who heroically gave their lives to keep our country safe.
Today, I joined the Northern Nevada Veterans Memorial Day ceremony to honor the memories of Nevadans who made the ultimate sacrifice.
Your backyard barbecue this summer costs more than last year, and Trump’s chaotic policies are to blame.
This Memorial Day, we remember and honor the servicemembers who made the ultimate sacrifice for our nation defending our freedoms. Their sacrifice will never be forgotten.
As the Fallon Range Training Complex expands, our Northern Nevada ranchers are being forced to give up their land and livelihoods in service to our country.
I’ll keep working to make sure our ranchers in the Fallon community get the compensation they deserve.
I pressed the Secretary of the Air Force to provide the VA with accurate records proving these veterans served at locations where they were exposed, and I'll keep fighting to correct this injustice.
