Religious freedom should never be used as an excuse to discriminate.
That's why @booker.senate.gov, @raskin.house.gov, @scanlon.house.gov, @repcohen.bsky.social and I reintroduced the Do No Harm Act to ensure religious exercise doesn’t come at the expense of civil rights.
About to join Barbara Hamm Lee on @whropublicmedia.bsky.social. Listen below! 👇

The resolution was not referred to Committee where it could have received deliberative consideration over these obvious double standards. I voted no.
When Rep. Green was escorted out, he walked past a Republican member of Congress who was wearing a bright red MAGA campaign hat in flagrant violation of the Rules of the House.
@algreen.house.gov was punished for standing up for Medicaid.
Furthermore, Republicans heckled, jeered and argued with President Biden last year during his State of the Union without sanction.
Today, I stood with workers and reintroduced the PRO Act.
Won’t catch me without my @uniondrip.bsky.social
President Trump got a standing ovation for declaring support for a balanced budget. Just days ago, he endorsed the House Republican budget scheme which showers tax cuts on the top 1% and corporations while cutting Medicaid, education and nutrition programs. All while increasing the deficit.
That initiative rounded up people of Mexican heritage, many of whom were American citizens. www.history.com/news/operati...
His unapologetic attacks on civil rights included not only eliminating Diversity, Equity and Inclusion initiatives, but a withdrawal from the UN Human Rights Council and an endorsement of the Eisenhower immigration initiative, which was called “Operation Wetback.”
Last night, President Trump did not offer any reasonable or concrete solutions to the real problems Americans are facing.

She was fired as part of the Trump-Musk harmful downsizing of the federal workforce.
I invited retired Army Staff Sergeant Alexzandria Hunt to be my guest to President Trump’s address tonight.
She was a supply technician at the Hampton V.A. Medical Center, working hard to ensure other veterans in Hampton Roads received the care they earned.

The Trump Administration's unjust firing of thousands of civil servants lays the groundwork for workplace discrimination with little to no recourse. It also exposes workers to exploitation, injury, & potentially death on the job.
@bobbyscott.house.gov & @repilhan.bsky.social are demanding answers.
It was a pleasure to welcome Portsmouth’s own, Adrienne Warren, back to Hampton Roads last evening for Tina: A Tina Turner Celebration with the Virginia Symphony
Joined Norfolk State University stakeholders in officially welcoming Head Coach Michael Vick to campus
Enjoyed the Annual Peninsula Chapter VCIC Humanitarian Awards Dinner with State Director Jonathan Zur and all of the honorees.
President Trump and Vice President Vance demonstrated a complete disregard for the facts. Ukraine is the victim of Putin's barbaric invasion. Anyone who does not side with Ukraine is undermining America's standing in the world and our national security.

Yesterday, @markwarner.bsky.social, @bobbyscott.house.gov, @mcclellan.house.gov, @repvindman.bsky.social, and I hosted Virginians to honor Black History Month. As some try to erase Black history, it’s more important than ever to celebrate Black Americans’ many contributions throughout history.
Inflation is up.
Jobless claims are up.
And Donald Trump and House Republicans are pushing a budget scheme to explode the deficit to give tax breaks to billionaires and corporations while slashing Medicaid and funding for education.
