My thoughts and prayers are with his family and loved ones during this difficult time. I hope people across the Puget Sound region take a moment to reflect on and celebrate the lasting impact of his work on hard-hitting, inquisitive journalism. Rest easy, Joel.

I was proud to know him throughout his distinguished career covering state and local politics and helping make our community better for it.
I was deeply saddened to hear of the passing of longtime Seattle political columnist Joel Connelly. Joel dedicated more than five decades of his life to journalism as a quick-witted, insightful reporter in the Seattle area.
A lesson learned from Viktor Orban’s defeat in Hungary.
Thanks to Washington Department of Health Secretary Worsham for stopping by my District Office in Kent to discuss upcoming priorities and federal public health challenges. I look forward to working together to make Washington a safer place to live. Appreciate you meeting me.
We need to build more housing and take institutional investors out of the market to benefit single-family developments and a buyer-friendly market.
Buyers are entering the housing market later in life for one reason: the cost of housing is too expensive. The house my father bought in the 1970s for $15,000 would be over $1,000,000 now, which is unattainable and unaffordable for a middle-class family in Washington.
A step in the right direction. By investing in shelter units, we place more homeless individuals in a safe, protected environment. Adding housing availability will give Washingtonians more accessibility to resources and services to move their lives forward economically, socially, and physically.
President Trump is renegotiating a nuclear agreement that he initially tore up.
Let's not forget the impacts of this war with Iran.
I would be a much happier person if Donald Trump was not the president tomorrow, but we have to think strategically about stopping him.
Constant war empowers Hezbollah while Lebanese families pay the price. We need a path that reduces violence and ensures a secure future for the region.
I’ve heard from many constituents who are deeply concerned about the civilian casualties in Lebanon from Israel air strikes. The war in Lebanon must stop and Israel must work with the Lebanese government to strengthen institutions, support stability, and give people a real alternative to extremism.
The President's decision-making is unhinged, irrational, and proves that he is unfit for office.
I sat down with folks from local unions to hear about building trade and apprenticeship groups across our community. As the son of a unionized ramp serviceman at SeaTac Airport, I understand the importance of support from those in your field when pursuing a high-quality, high-paying job.
For every $1 earned by white, non-Hispanic men, AANHPI women earn about 83¢. Today we recognize the wage gap experienced by Asian American, Native Hawaiian, and Pacific Islander women and advocate for equal pay for all.
There have been tremendous costs to Trump's war of choice with Iran, and the rest of the world is not happy that he has no plans to end it.
When Donald Trump breaks the law, we will challenge it in the courts. Great news that this administration’s attempt to derail federal homelessness funding has been struck down. We need to allocate our housing dollars to build more affordable units and keep our neighbors off the streets.
The threats and the things that Donald Trump has said disqualify him as Commander in Chief of the military.
