Now, we must find a new path forward that ensures a future for the salmon, expands our reliable clean energy grid, and protects the irreplaceable environment of the Pacific Northwest.
This agreement paused decades of litigation and charted a desperately needed path forward for the Columbia River Basin. The Trump Administration’s reckless decision today sets the Pacific Northwest back tremendously and undermines our relationship with Tribal nations.
This is part of an effort from the Trump Administration to clean the record on their unlawful cuts to vital programs and agencies which provide essential, often life-saving, services for Americans and individuals across the globe.
I am adamantly opposed to the recissions packaged offered on the House floor yesterday, which would codify President Trump and Elon Musk’s unlawful cuts to funding for USAID and public broadcasting, among other important programs.
As we work to understand the situation that is developing in the Middle East tonight, I urge both sides to do what they can to prevent further escalation of violence. Too many innocent civilians are at risk of getting caught in the crossfire and leaders of both countries should proceed with caution.
It is incredibly concerning for a United States Senator to be violently detained for trying to ask a question during a public press conference.
Wow. California Sen. Alex Padilla is wrestled and detained by federal officers after showing up to DHS Sec. Kristi Noem's press conference in LA. (video from Bill Melugin of Fox News)
There was no situation in Los Angeles that was not being handled by the local police. President Trump wanted to expand his power. I joined Meet the Press Now to discuss the protests in LA, the deployment of the U.S. military, and Trump's military parade.
I'm advocating for $3M in federal funds to come to WA-09 to redesign and expand Midway Park in Des Moines. The proposed improvements will modernize the facility, add new play and recreation features, and transform the space into a safe, inclusive, and well-utilized neighborhood park.
Today, I met with the Building Industry Association of Washington, representing over 8,000 member companies in the state. Always happy to talk about improving our energy supply and building up our workforce.
I'm advocating for $2.5M in federal funds to come to WA-09 to replace the Tukwila Community Center HVAC system. The project will ensure reliable heating and cooling for vulnerable residents during extreme heat or cold events while advancing Tukwila’s climate and energy efficiency goals.
Thanks to the City of Bellevue for making the trip to D.C. Great conversation about improving our transportation, sustainable infrastructure, and safety in the community.
Absent a resolution to the conflict, the U.S. should ensure there is accountability for those perpetuating violence in eastern DRC, such as further targeted sanctions.
Their blatant disregard for the constitutionally-protected right of due process, existing laws, and judicial rulings is putting innocent people in harm's way and must stop immediately.
I joined my colleagues in demanding Secretary Noem and Secretary Rubio provide information about their cruel and unlawful attempts to deport individuals to third countries.
I urge the President to allow state and local authorities in California to handle this situation to avoid the risk of escalation and even the appearance of using the military as a police force.
