I was honored to work alongside him for many years and witness firsthand his unwavering commitment to justice.
My heart is with the entire Jackson family and all who loved him. May we honor his extraordinary life by carrying forward the fight for justice he so fiercely believed in.
My dear friend Rev. Jesse Jackson devoted his life to fighting for dignity, equality, and opportunity for all. From his transformative organizing and advocacy in Chicago to his leadership on the national stage, his courage and conviction inspired millions and strengthened the civil rights movement.
This week I greeted the 19 monks who walked over 100 days and 2,300 miles to bring a message of peace to the Capitol.
Their journey is a powerful reminder that in tough times we all must do everything we can to lead with compassion, stand up for justice, and never stay silent in the face of wrong.
Another attempt to erase history.
Let’s be clear: the murder of 1.5 million Armenians was genocide.
We must never forget. I will continue to call it what it is and stand with the Armenian people.
Many processed foods like cereal & chips contain BHA, a preservative linked to cancer risk & other health concerns.
The FDA is finally taking a closer look, something my Food Chemical Reassessment Act has pushed for years.
We must put the ‘F’ back in the FDA & reign in this dangerous chemical.
Let’s call it what it is: a targeted, malicious attack on blue states for providing life-saving health care.
Illinois faces devastating cuts to HIV prevention & critical public health programs, with hospitals like Lurie Children’s under direct attack.
We'll fight back. People’s lives are at risk.
Mental health care is essential for all.
I’m grateful to our mental health professionals for fighting stigma and providing treatment to millions.
I’ll continue to do all I can to support research and expand access to care.
My dear friends Barack and Michelle Obama have earned our respect through a lifetime of service and leadership.
Racist attacks from a small man who desperately wants even a fraction of that respect won’t change it.
Always energizing to spend time with my friend @flyingwithsara.bsky.social, International President of the Association of Flight Attendants–CWA, AFL–CIO.
She’s an outstanding labor leader, & together we’re fighting to ensure flight attendants get the fair pay & strong protections they have earned.
Grateful to work with bipartisan partners Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick, @crow.house.gov, & @quigley.house.gov in the House, and @coons.senate.gov & Lisa Murkowski in the Senate.
When we work together, we can deliver better care and bring much needed relief to ALS patients and families.
I watched as one of my dear friends suffered from ALS, a debilitating and fatal disease, with little hope.
That’s why I’m reintroducing common-sense legislation to expand access to comprehensive, multidisciplinary care for people living with ALS.
This February, we celebrate #BlackHistoryMonth and honor the Black leaders, pioneers, trailblazers, and heroes whose good trouble broke down barriers and propelled our nation forward.
Their triumphs, innovations, and courage continue to shape our future.
Black history is American history.
Every person in the U.S. deserves access to high-quality, affordable health care.
I introduced legislation with @whitehouse.senate.gov and @slotkin.senate.gov to drive down premiums, increase competition, and expand access to coverage for millions of Americans.
On International Holocaust Remembrance Day, we reflect on the atrocities of the Holocaust and the lives lost.
Memory alone is not enough.
We must actively confront antisemitism, bigotry, and hate today and every day. #NeverAgain
Greg Bovino wreaked havoc on our communities.
His removal is long overdue, but the cruelty that enabled him remains.
Accountability means confronting the system, not just removing one official.
We must impeach Noem, block DHS funding, and stop ICE’s abusive practices.
Trump and his enablers must be held accountable, and I will do everything in my power to see it done. Get the hell out of our communities.
Two people are now dead in Minnesota at the hands of Donald Trump's masked thugs.
This is a direct result of Trump’s deliberate campaign to unleash brutality and lawlessness on our immigration system.
There are no words strong enough to express my disgust at these atrocities.
From hospitals to rural clinics, Certified Registered Nurse Anesthetists provide critical pain management care to millions each year.
I introduced a bipartisan resolution with Rep. Dave Joyce honoring their role in delivering high-quality care nationwide.
