Let’s be clear, Trump’s tariffs will be paid by Americans. Like a tax.
They will raise prices across the board. On food. On gas. On families. On small businesses.
An average American can expect to pay an annual tax of around $2600.
So much for his promise of lower prices.

FBI Director nominee Kash Patel promised no retribution. The next day, we have this grotesque purge at the FBI.
Bondi said she would examine pardons on a case by case basis.
Then Trump gave 1550 pardons overnight.
Their confirmation commitments mean nothing.
Tonight Donald Trump fired dozens of prosecutors at the DC U.S. Attorney's office and agents at the FBI.
Another Friday Night Massacre, as the President removes those loyal to the constitution.
And installs those loyal to him.
The White House says:
- 25% tariffs on Mexico and Canada
What Americans feel:
- Fewer options at the store
- Higher prices for all of us, especially on food
He promised to cut costs. Now he's implementing a Trump Tax on our families.
The chaos continues.
At a time when Californians desperately need help, any delay on federal assistance – especially an intentional one by the Administration – adds injury to injury.
History is littered with democracies that lost their freedoms without seeming to notice while it was happening.
Let’s not become one of them.
Kash Patel can say he doesn’t support violence against law enforcement.
He can say that “we” doesn’t mean “we”. He can say any false thing that he wants to deflect responsibility.
But it’s what he did that matters. And what he did was disgraceful.
Kash Patel raised money for January 6 insurrectionists who attacked law enforcement.
I asked him to look those officers in the eye and tell them he was proud of what he did.
He couldn't.
Closely monitoring reports of a mid-air collision tonight at Reagan Airport.
Praying for all on board. And grateful for the first responders assisting with search and rescue.
Wishing a joyous Lunar New Year to those celebrating in California and across the country today.
May you have a happy and healthy Year of the Snake.
Pam Bondi has demonstrated none of the independence necessary to be the nation's top law enforcement officer.
None.
Kash Patel wants to run the FBI – but the Senate still doesn’t have key info from the Special Counsel’s report on his testimony.
We need the truth. We need transparency.
The DOJ must release these materials. Now. Read my letter with @senatordurbin.bsky.social:
Donald Trump's pardons of insurrectionists were a promise:
Donald Trump and JD Vance claim that the pardons of violent criminals were about due process and "liberty."
They were not.
Donald Trump’s order to halt federal assistance will have deeply destructive consequences for recovery efforts, law enforcement funding, health care access, and much more.
This will hurt every community across the country – red, blue, rural, urban, and everything in between.
The last person you want as FBI Director is Kash Patel.
It’s a position of immense, at times unreviewable, power.
And in addition to being dishonest, untrustworthy, and utterly lacking in character – he will do anything in the service of Donald Trump. Anything.
The Holocaust is our history.
It's the lives stolen. Futures rewritten. The pain carried by survivors and their descendants.
Today, we remember those who died and those who still live.
And recommit ourselves to ensuring it can never, ever happen again.
In 1942, Paula was arrested and deported to Minsk.
She was murdered in Auschwitz later that year.
Her courage saved so many, even as it cost her everything.
After Kristallnacht, Paula dedicated her time and life to shepherding countless children onto the Kindertransport – including Erika’s little brother.
Paula was given countless opportunities to stay in London. But she insisted on returning to Germany to care for her community.
Erika had attended Theodor Herzl School, a sanctuary for Jewish children in Berlin, led by a remarkable woman:
Paula Fürst.
Paula gave these children hope, safety, and education at a time when the world outside their classrooms grew increasingly hostile.
