The sentencing of the Highland Park shooter is one more step of healing for our community. The wounds from that terrible day run deep & will never fully heal. I extend my support to all of our neighbors, especially those whose loved ones were stolen, as they continue to heal.

This story should allay any and all doubts about Hegseth’s unsuitability for the high office he holds. Not only should he be immediately fired, he should be under investigation for willfully releasing classified information. Why are Republicans still defending him?
The Trump Admin’s dangerous & cowardly demand that Ukraine surrender to Russia will not bring peace. It will only empower Putin to threaten US allies around the world. Trump, Vance & Rubio are not only surrendering Ukraine’s sovereignty, but our credibility & leadership.

Secretary Hegseth has once again proven that he cannot be trusted to lead our armed forces or act in our nation’s best interests.
He must resign or be fired immediately.
Statement from chair @repschneider.bsky.social and National Security Working Group Chair Rep. Gil Cisneros ⬇️
Trump & House Republicans had one job: to lower prices for hardworking Americans. Instead they've tanked the global economy and erased trillions from retirement accounts. House Republicans can stop the chaos RIGHT NOW. Why aren't they?

Loose lips sink ships. It's time for Hegseth to go. www.nytimes.com/2025/04/20/u...
Grateful for the invitation to join the residents of Covenant Living in Northbrook for a townhall. It was a privilege to hear their stories and share how we’re fighting to protect the programs seniors depend on, like Social Security and Medicare. Thank you for the welcome and meaningful discussion.
On National Librarian Day, we want to give our librarians the recognition they deserve. Libraries serve as essential community hubs where people of all ages can learn, grow, and thrive together. Today, let’s stand in support of the librarians and staff who make our libraries welcoming for all.
President Trump’s tariffs are hurting Illinois families with higher prices and economic uncertainty. Fed Chair Powell warned this week they could drag down the economy even more. We need leadership that puts our families first. www.chicagotribune.com/2025/04/16/t...
128,039 hard-working citizens in my district who rely on Social Security not as a handout but as an earned benefit are being STRIPPED of this right so that Trump and Elon can provide tax breaks for their billionaire buddies.
Let me be clear: I’m doing everything I can to fight back against these cuts — including hosting critical conversations like this to raise awareness about what’s at stake for the health of our nation.
We heard powerful stories from attendees about how NIH funding and scientific progress have touched their lives and those of their loved ones.
An incredibly powerful conversation. I’m deeply grateful to have convened a roundtable with leading medical experts from Lurie, Northwestern, Rosalind Franklin, and Rush to address the devastating impact of the Trump Administration’s NIH cuts.
In case you missed it, the stock market tanked again today. President Trump simply cannot have the authority to unilaterally set fire to our economy like this. Congress must retake its authority and stop the chaos. @waysmeanscmte.bsky.social is taking action.

New Dem Chair @repschneider.bsky.social just issued a statement after Trump announced a 90-day pause on a portion of the new tariffs, a continuation of the 10% tariff rate on every U.S. trading partner, and an escalation to a 125% tariff rate on China.

Today, as Republicans push a budget that gives billionaires a tax break by ripping away health care and nutrition programs from working families, Chair @repschneider.bsky.social is introducing a bill to block GOP cuts to Medicaid & food assistance.

I guess Trump realized his Liberation Day turned into Liquidation Week?
We love hearing positive success stories from constituents about how our office has helped them navigate federal agencies. This one from Bryna in Highland Park highlights how our team was able to assist her with enrolling in Medicare Part B. Grateful we could help!

NEW: Today, New Dems wrote to President Trump and his top advisors imploring the administration to change course on their erratic and unilateral trade war.
