President Trump and his administration are trying to break things.
New Dems are working to move fast and fix things.
I sat down with Semafor to talk about the @newdemcoalition.bsky.social vision for moving the country forward, together.

I call on Speaker Johnson to bring the Antisemitism Awareness Act to the floor and for appropriators to increase funding that helps Jewish institutions invest in the security measures that can thwart terror attacks.
The Jewish community is reeling right now. Congress can take action NOW to combat antisemitism.

Rick Woldenberg, from Vernon Hills, owns a local toy business that makes toys designed to help kids learn.
Rick is taking on the Trump Administration's tariff tax in court, hoping to relieve small businesses of the burden Trump's chaotic trade war has created.

There’s lots of talk lately about the Congressional Budget Office (CBO). I thought I would share this article to help people better understand what the CBO does.

Gun violence costs the American taxpayer over $557 billion every year. The cost to American lives is even greater.
During National Gun Violence Awareness Month, let’s commit to addressing the epidemic of gun violence.

"CBO is simply doing its job and doing so at its usual high level of professionalism,” former CBO Director Douglas Holtz-Eakin, a frequent adviser to Republicans, wrote this week. “If the administration wants better numbers, it should try better policies."

Wishing everyone in the district and around the globe who celebrate a happy Eid al-Adha!
Heartbroken over the loss of Judi Weinstein Haggai and Gad Haggai. I send strength to their families as they lay them to rest.
We cannot rest until every last hostage is returned to their loved ones.

Trump condemned Sunday’s attack in Boulder, but made no mention of Jews or antisemitism.
@repschneider.bsky.social is right: “Everything is about him or about a way to make the point he wants to make.”
16 MILLION Americans will lose their health care because of Trump's One Big, Ugly Bill, per the nonpartisan CBO today.
What are these families to do if an emergency happens? If an urgent medication or treatment is needed?
This is pure cruelty and greed, plain and simple.
Happy #PrideMonth! As a proud member of the Equality Caucus, I’m working every day in Congress toward a more equal future and will continue to fight for and defend the LGBTQI+ community from attacks on all fronts. 🏳️🌈
We can't let this be the new normal. Corruption is eating away at the foundation of our democracy, and its root is in the Oval Office. Read more here:
Really appreciated the opportunity to host another great town hall last night—this time in Northbrook—where hundreds of community members joined us for a thoughtful conversation about these unprecedented times in Washington. Thank you to everyone who attended in person or tuned in via livestream.
For 600 days, 58 hostages have been held in Gaza, including 4 Americans. It's long past time for Hamas to release the hostages and end the war, allowing for recovery and renewal to begin in Gaza.
Swimming to the top! Congratulations to Stevenson’s girls swimming team on capturing their third straight State Water Polo Championship—what an incredible achievement!
Charlie Rangel was an American patriot, Korean War veteran and the first Black chair of the powerful Ways and Means committee. I always enjoyed hearing him regale Members of the committee with tales of bipartisan work to pass major legislation under his leadership. May his memory be a blessing.
This Memorial Day, we remember and honor the brave servicemembers who gave their lives serving and protecting our country. We'll forever hold their memories close to our hearts.
Yaron Lischinsky and Sarah Milgrim should be with us today.
They’re not because of hate.
We must honor Yaron and Sarah’s memory, and ensure it is a blessing.
We will not back down in the fight against antisemitism. We belong here.
This morning, I voted NO on the GOP tax scam.
NO to taking healthcare away from 14 million people.
NO to taking food assistance away from millions of families.
NO to raising costs across the board for the poorest in the country to help Trump’s super rich friends get richer.
