The White House is refusing to reimburse states who try to fund SNAP, just like it is refusing to use the contingency fund. This takes away options from local and state leaders trying to prevent Pennsylvania families from going hungry. www.goerie.com/story/news/p...
The White House is letting 42 million Americans go hungry, while they have money and a plan to continue payments during the shutdown. I support @governor.pa.gov's decision to join 24 other states' lawsuit to use its contingency funds so ~2 million Pennsylvanians don't go hungry.
I’m joining 24 other states in taking legal action to demand the Trump Administration release SNAP payments that help millions put food on the table. We won’t stand by while the President lets our kids go hungry.
Special Counsel Jack Smith has nothing to hide from the American people. Chairman Jim Jordan should join @democrats-judiciary.house.gov and allow him to testify in front of the American public. Why are they afraid of the truth coming out?
The Trump administration can fund SNAP through November with previously approved funding from Congress, but it is choosing not to. Speaker Johnson has neutered Congress, while the White House chooses to inflict pain and hunger on 42 million Americans, including seniors, veterans, and children.
Speaker Mike Johnson is siding with the Trump administration’s decision to not tap emergency funds for food aid for 42 million Americans — who are slated to lose SNAP benefits on Saturday if the government shutdown continues.
@houserepublicans.bsky.social's refusal to extend ACA tax credits will cause an extra 8,811 PREVENTABLE DEATHS in America each year, IN ADDITION to 42,500 annual deaths caused by the DC Republicans' cuts to Medicaid and SNAP. Democrats are fighting to protect Americans' health care.
Over 40 million Americans are at risk of losing SNAP benefits on November 1st. By not spending money already allocated, the Trump administration is using Americans’ hunger as political leverage. If you want to help your community, consider donating to a local food pantry.
A lapse in funding on Nov. 1 would be devastating for over a million Pennsylvanians who rely on SNAP. I'm joining 213 of my House Democratic colleagues to demand that @usdagov.bsky.social take all possible actions to ensure that 42 million Americans, including children & seniors, don’t go hungry.
With SNAP funding set to lapse, 42M children and families are at risk of experiencing hunger.  I am leading 213 House Democrats in calling on the USDA to use contingency reserve dollars and all legal authority to fund SNAP during this shutdown.   Read more ➡️ hayes.house.gov/index.cfm?a=...
