Max was an ER doctor at a front-line hospital that closed partly due to a lack of Medicaid funding.
He spoke about how people can’t access emergency care, have to travel further for less care, or are unable to reach the closest hospital.
Andrea, a small business owner with diabetes, currently pays $700 a month for healthcare, and she anticipates these costs will go up to $1600 next year.
Without ACA credits, she’s afraid she’ll have to close her small business, giving up her dream.
Lauri and her husband, small business owners and cancer survivors, will see their insurance premiums skyrocket from $1,000 to $2,000 a month if ACA credits expire.
They are scared that they won't be able to afford insurance when an 80% increase kicks in at the end
We’re hearing stories about how the Republican healthcare crisis is impacting Americans from across the country.
I want to highlight a few from our community🧵
Young adults are facing the highest rate of unemployment in America.
They can't afford groceries and housing because of tariffs.
They're about to lose healthcare insurance because Republicans in DC are refusing to end the government shutdown and extend the ACA tax credits.
Looking forward to speaking with @timfullerton.bsky.social on the @findoutpodcast.bsky.social at 1:30 EST about the Epstein files, government shutdown, and more!

The constituents of Arizona's 7th District deserve representation in Congress.
Speaker Johnson, cut the crap and swear in the rep-elect Grijalva as the duly elected Congresswoman from AZ-7.

House Republicans may be on vacation and refusing to negotiate with @housedemocrats.bsky.social to protect Americans' healthcare, but this afternoon I was able to meet with future leaders, students from Colgate University, to discuss the need for bipartisanship and a range of policy issues.
We heard powerful stories of how skyrocketing healthcare costs will hurt community members, including small business owners, seniors, cancer survivors, people with diabetes, families caring for disabled children, people in recovery, and more.
I joined@powerinterfaith.bsky.social and dozens of faith leaders to speak about how the Republican healthcare crisis is affecting Americans in my district and across the country.
Republicans’ refusal to come to work and solve the healthcare crisis they caused is going to affect all of us.
Americans will face higher health costs, hospital closures, and longer wait times, if Congressional Republicans don’t get back to work.
After 738 days, the surviving Israeli hostages have been released by Hamas and are reuniting with their families. As we celebrate their release, we mourn those who will not be able to return to their loved ones.
A busy weekend morning at the library, with story hour, a children's playgroup, crafts workshops, and study groups!
There was also a banned book reading of Fahrenheit 451, Ray Bradbury's cautionary tale about censorship and book burning as a response to the Red Scare.
If you want to see how the Republican’s healthcare crisis is impacting our community, here’s the data:

Constituents across PA-05 have been telling me they’ve received notices of their health insurance premiums going WAY UP.
If this has happened to you, help me fight for your healthcare by sharing your story here: scanlon.house.gov/forms/form/?...
The largest healthcare system in my district recently went bankrupt, leaving thousands of my Delco constituents scrambling for care.
Republicans in Congress are pushing for policies that would worsen this crisis so that they can give tax cuts to their billionaire buddies.
Americans shouldn't have to choose between having healthcare and putting food on the table.
But if Republicans refuse to extend the ACA tax credits and cancel the Medicaid cuts Millions of American will be forced to make that choice.
It was a busy day in Folsom! I spoke with veterans at VFW Post 928's Veteran Appreciation Day about the work we've done to expand their benefits & how the government shutdown might affect access to vital services. I also caught up with Chief Joe Carrollo at Folsom Fire Company's busy Oktoberfest.
House GOP is on vacation, while millions of Americans are losing their healthcare - and federal workers aren't getting paid.
Speaker Johnson needs to cancel their vacation, come back to DC, and work with House Democrats to serve the American people.
