Another school shooting today. This time it's Colorado. Children should be able to go to school without being afraid of being shot. Gun violence is taking too many American lives. We cannot continue to go down this path without action.
Shocked & heartbroken to see there is an ongoing incident involving an active assailant at Evergreen High School. I'm hopeful law enforcement is able to intervene & ensure all kids come home safe. We are in communication with local law officials & will be there to support the Evergreen community.
I forced a standalone vote to repeal the 2002 and 1991 Authorizations for the Use of Military Force. This will allow Congress to finally end open-ended authorities that have been abused by presidents of both parties to wage wars all over the world.
The President decided to rename the Department of Defense as the Department of War. While this gimmick won't distract from the Epstein files and this administration's economic failures, it will certainly cost taxpayers a fortune, with estimates ranging over a billion dollars.
Republicans gleefully cheer on military deployments in American cities. I’ll bet that they’d lose their goddamn minds if National Guard troops were sent to their home states, which have substantially higher crime rates.
The ongoing abuse of the National Guard with deployments to American cities is a terrible use of taxpayer dollars. These deployments support the sickest kind of politics, using military power to intimidate citizens and the residents in some of our biggest cities.
Our country made solemn promises to provide refuge to Afghan allies who stood with our troops when it mattered. I heard from constituents in my district that an Afghan man who supported our troops was arrested and detained despite having papers. The people who support our troops deserve better.
Large vehicles have numerous benefits, but if American INNOVATION can make them safer for pedestrians, we should invest in that effort. InvestigativeTV highlights the growing danger pedestrians face from larger vehicles and how my Pedestrian Safety Act will make our roads safer.
I was pleased to greet the active citizens joining the "We Are America" March from Independence Hall to DC in support of our Constitution and to hold our government accountable. We met marchers from as far away as TX, MN and SC at the end of their first day. See you in DC!
It was so exciting to attend the Upper Chichester Library Open House to show the community plans to convert the old Boothwyn Fire Station into a spectacular new library. We were pleased to secure Community Project Funding for the renovation.
