Emmanuel Damas died at ICE's Florence, AZ Detention Center — at least the tenth person to die in DHS custody this year.
I spoke with Emmanuel's brother this morning to offer my condolences. His family deserves answers & accountability, and I won't stop pushing until they get it.
I called on the President to fire Kristi Noem after her disastrous handling of the Texas Floods last year and reports of crimes, coverups, and corruption at DHS.
Her departure can’t come fast enough.

I grilled the Trump Administration's head of real estate on why ICE is buying up hundreds of properties across the country and how they’re helping cover it up.
He was unable or unwilling to answer almost all of my questions.
DHS is quietly buying up office space and converting warehouses in the heart of our communities into ICE facilities — no public notice, no community input, no accountability.
GSA, the agency responsible for federal real estate, owes the American people answers.
Happy Holi!
I wish you a joyful day full of color, community, and new beginnings.
🚨 LAST CALL: The deadline to apply for FY2027 Community Project Funding is this Friday.

Arizona’s water playbook is simple: recycle, recycle, recycle.
We use less water today than we did 50 years ago — even after decades of growth. So when it comes to Colorado River cuts, AZ is ready to do its part, but we deserve a deal that reflects the work we’ve already done.
Water security is economic security, and here in Arizona, it’s national security too.

I am aware of reports that a man passed away while in the custody of Immigration and Customs Enforcement in Florence.
My thoughts are with the family, and we have reached out to them to offer our condolences and support. They deserve answers, and I will do everything in my power to get them.
Kicked off @secdefenceplus.bsky.social's Emerging Voices Series yesterday. The conference brings together leaders from 3 global universities — ASU, King's College, & UNSW.
With the rules-based order under threat, we must be clear: strong alliances & collective security are more important than ever.
Fast police response time can save lives.
I'm proud to have secured over $430,000 in federal funding to support the Mesa Police Department's Real Time Crime Center. This is a massive investment in public safety — thanks to Mayor Freeman and Chief Butler for helping me get this done.
As negotiations over the future of the Colorado River continue, I'm fighting for a balanced solution that protects the millions of people and vital industries that depend on it.

Arizona is the semiconductor capital of America — building the cutting-edge chips powering everything from consumer electronics to AI and advanced weapons.
“C is for Congress.”
It was great to visit Sunrise Preschool in Tempe for #ReadingAcrossAmerica day. No question was too big or constituent too small to get a moment of my time and a handshake from their Congressman!
Chag Purim Sameach!
Hope your Purim is filled with laughter, good food, and great company. Wishing you a safe and joyful celebration.

The stakes couldn't be higher: we are months away from the federal government deciding how water from the Colorado River should be divided amongst 40 million people.
Please submit your thoughts below so I can share them with Interior Secretary Doug Burgum.
