We love our furry friends! Every year thousands of cats and dogs end up in shelters across New Mexico. That’s why we are so grateful for Animal Humane NM and other shelters who care for them on their way to their forever homes.

Happy Thanksgiving, New Mexico! Every day, but especially today as the sun is setting on this Thanksgiving day, I am so very thankful for all of you.
I hope you had a wonderful day with loved ones and doing all the things that bring you joy and nourish your soul! ❤️
Happy Thanksgiving, everyone!
What are you thankful for this year? For me—it’s all of you and the opportunity to serve our communities. Here’s what some of our friends and neighbors had to say this week as well. ❤️

Is DOGE dead?
Whatever it is—we know it has left a legacy of damage and destruction in its wake—and we are ready to pivot to a politics of hope!
Join us and share your ideas as we reimagine not only the fight for our democracy, but also how to restore our country and the work ahead!
Heartbroken to learn of the shooting of two National Guardsmen in our nation’s capital. Sending our prayers to our service members and their loved ones. 💔
This year, as part of our week of thanks, we volunteered at @animalhumanenm.bsky.social. In times like these, it’s so important to do things that give back and bring joy!
These furry constituents are looking for their forever homes. Thank you, Animal Humane NM, for loving them in the meantime. 🐾❤️
Protect the Sacred. This is why protecting the Petroglyphs and Chaco Canyon matters—not just for a New Mexico—but for everyone! 🐺🐾💕 #ProtectChacoCanyon #ProtectthePetroglyphs
Friends, help protect Chaco Canyon! Here’s what you can do:
- Call your members of Congress and urge them to sign onto the Chaco Cultural Heritage Area Protection Act!
- Call the Department of the Interior at 202-208-3100 and the White House at 202-456-1111 and tell them to protect Chaco Canyon!
Every day, our work for NM-01 is to continue to show up and set our minds and hearts to the work ahead. It was an honor to share this space with you this morning!
We must lean into HOPE! Thank you to the First Unitarian Church of Albuquerque inviting me to your speaker series to share our message of hope and the work ahead to ensure that every person has access to food, housing, healthcare, opportunity, and dignity.
And every day, this Administration is breaking more of these systems, including in education.
We must keep fighting!
NM has chosen to ensure our communities have access to all three—including as the first state to guarantee universal early childhood education & free college for all. But, these promises are based on having a system that works for all Americans.
EDUCATION is a policy choice. Just like ensuring HEALTHCARE and fighting HUNGER are a policy choice.
Let’s be clear: I’m all for permitting reform & modernizing our infrastructure. I’m not for gutting environmental laws & the rights of our frontline communities.
NEPA exists to make sure there’s a backstop to protect our lands, waters, sacred sites, and communities.

It’s been a week! But I’m grateful to be back home on this beautiful fall day. Here’s a recap of what’s been going on, what it means for our country and our communities and why it’s so important to stay plugged in and focused on the work ahead ⬇️

Protect Chaco Canyon!
It is sacred and holy, and we are going to use every tool we have to protect this place—not just today, not just tomorrow, but for generations to come.
Help raise your voices, share this message, and make calls!

ICYMI: The GOP is trying to pass Permitting Reform legislation that would gut protections for Tribes and communities to oppose strip mining and oil and gas drilling.
These lands have been protected by Tribal treaty rights since the 19th Century. How is this America First?
Chaco Canyon is sacred ground. That is why we are fighting to protect this place and ask the American people for their help!
So, Congress is on fire 🔥 (or at least the subway) which seems like such a metaphor for the week doesn’t it? ⬇️
And yet, he indicated he did—and then the White House defended it.
This is not ok.
