Happy Earth Day everyone! 🌎🌲❤️ 55 years ago today the first Earth Day helped to build a national and global movement to protect the planet. Join me in recommitting to the work ahead to ensure the protection of our precious air, land, water, wildlife, climate, & communities for generations to come!
Friends – we are headed back to Washington DC next week and want to make sure we hear from you. Please join us for our 15th official Congressional town hall tonight in Bernalillo at Bernalillo High School ⬇️
NM-01: our Town Hall tour across the district continues! Please join us in Bernalillo and Rio Rancho next week. We’d love to see you! RSVP here: linktr.ee/repstansbury
Elon Musk and DOGE’s access and downloading of sensitive data continues to raise significant alarms. That’s why we’re continuing to investigate and conduct oversight—and last week demanded answers from OMB on how sensitive data and AI is being used and who has access. Americans want answers!
I am heartbroken to learn of the passing of Pope Francis. He ushered in a new era focused on compassion, equality, and justice. Pope Francis led with a humility that transcended boundaries—advocating for the poor, LGBTQ+ rights, climate action, and human rights. He will be missed across the planet.
Did you know NM-01 is Billy the Kid Country? This week we visited Lincoln County and spent time with State Cultural Affairs visiting the sites of the Lincoln County War—and THE jail where Billy the Kid escaped. So much amazing history in our state!
We had such an amazing time on our Southern District Tour! Thank you to everyone who hosted, toured, and came out to see us! Mescalero, Ruidoso, Roswell, Lincoln, Fort Stanton, Fort Sumner, and Moriarty—we love you! Next week we’ll be in Albuquerque, Rio Rancho and Bernalillo, come join us!
We must protect Medicaid & vital healthcare systems that serve our communities. This #MedicaidDayOfAction we want to thank everyone who came to our Town Halls the last several days and shared your stories, hopes, fears, & dreams. More to come, but in the meantime many thanks & stay in the fight! ❤️
Today, we visited Healing America's Heroes in Fort Stanton, NM—which is working to support and heal veterans and first responders with PTSD through equine therapy, fly fishing, and other supports. We also got to meet some new furry friends!🐴 #WeLoveLincolnCounty
Right now, Elon Musk and other Special Government Employees (SGEs) with significant conflicts of interest are working the system. We demand reform. That’s why @warren.senate.gov and I introduced the SGE Ethics Enforcement & Reform Act to ensure SGEs are subject to oversight and accountability ⬇️
We have a crisis in maternal health here in the U.S. Black women are 3 - 4 times more likely to die from pregnancy-related causes and cuts to healthcare programs across the country will only make this worse! This #BlackMaternalHealthWeek, we must fight like hell for the equity Black women deserve.
