Kamps Pallets is a prime example of Michigan innovation in action! From dumpster diving to a thriving billion dollar business - this amazing family owned business keeps our stuff moving and pallets out of landfills.
Trump’s attempts to gut programs like Head Start are a direct attack on Michiganders’ futures. I had a great visit with Head Start Kent County to see the work they’re doing to support our children and families. I’ll keep fighting to ensure these essential programs remain fully funded.
West Michigan is the proud home of farms and ag businesses that put food on our tables. I met with members of the Kent County Farm Bureau for a Legislative Breakfast this morning to continue working in partnership with our farmers and supporting their success however possible.
It was a pleasure to join Kids Food Basket to celebrate the opening of their new Muskegon location! Fighting childhood hunger is a top priority and this new location will help reach even more children in need.
Today, we remember the horrors of the Holocaust, honor the innocent lives brutally taken, and recommit ourselves to fighting back against hatred and antisemitism in all its forms. #NeverAgain
What a profound honor to help swear-in some of our country’s newest citizens. This ceremony reminded me of why we fight so hard to protect our democracy and work every day toward a more perfect union. 🇺🇸
Who needs the Louvre when you have such talent right here in West Michigan?! Thank you to every participant in this year’s Congressional Art Competition, I am so impressed by all of you! 🎨
Had a great meeting today with members of Ada Congregational Church to discuss how Medicaid and SNAP support their ministry and mission. For 175 years, this church has been a source of support—putting faith into action to care for their neighbors.
Happy Earth Day, West Michigan! I’m celebrating today with Calvin University's Plaster Creek Stewards. We planted native species to help restore a recently developed site. Their efforts are helping protect our water, strengthening our ecosystem & showing what local stewardship looks like in action.
My new Health Care Advisory Board is the next step in my ongoing partnership with health care providers throughout West Michigan—one that brings together some of the most innovative and compassionate health care minds in the country who serve right here in West Michigan.
Without access to high-quality health care, our neighbors can’t thrive. I was pleased to tour Trinity Health's facility in Muskegon today to reinforce my support for the health care centers that serve our community and learn more about the good, hard work being done there.
Grand Haven’s harbor supports over 450 jobs and generates $88.8 million annually in regional economic impact, and dredging is a critical part of that. I have been working for months to protect the necessary dredging schedule, but we’re now at a tipping point.
