It's been ONE week since the Republicans’ shutdown began. I've been working with @housedemocrats.bsky.social colleagues to: ‼️ Protect your health care ‼️ Call on Republicans to get back to the negotiating table ‼️ Lower YOUR costs Watch my video to learn how Republicans put us in this mess 👇
How did we get to a government shutdown and why is it related to the Affordable Care Act? Let’s talk about it and how it will impact you. Watch and share my full explainer.
I know how Republicans can help hardworking Americans. ✅ They can cancel their cuts to health care. ✅ Extend the premium tax credits. ✅ Lower costs for families. ✅ Save health care. Help Oregonians. ✅ Reopen the government. Let's start there.
Latinas are paid only 54 cents for every $1 paid to white men. As a proud Latina, I’m fighting to pass the Paycheck Fairness Act to ensure that every woman in the workforce has access to the fair and equal pay they deserve. We need equal pay for #Trabajadoras everywhere. Listen to hear more ⬇️
Our federal firefighters keep serving, even during the Republicans’ government shutdown. This #FirePreventionWeek, we must ensure that our firefighters have the resources they need to keep our communities safe from these deadly blazes. (1/2)
Wildfire season is upon us, and access to the right information is critical. Make a plan; sign up for emergency alerts; and monitor wildfires, smoke, and air quality. See more resources below ⬇️
I met with furloughed AFGE & AFSCME government employees who are being impacted by the Republicans' shutdown. These hardworking public servants deserve stability. I’ll keep supporting them during the middle of this Republican mess, and every day after.
RAJU: You swore in 2 GOP members during pro forma session. Why not swear in Grijalva? Does it have to do w/her signature on Epstein petition? JOHNSON: It has nothing to do with that. We'll swear her in when everybody is back R: Why not now? J: Uh - we'll schedule it, I guess, as soon as she wants
It is crucial that the violence in Gaza and Israel comes to a full stop and that all hostages are returned safely. The U.S. must play a role toward a brokered peace for the Jewish and Palestinian people. We must work toward a world where everyone can live freely from war. (2/2)
Today marks the second anniversary of the tragic October 7th terrorist attacks in Israel. My thoughts continue to be with the victims and their loved ones. The hostages must be returned to their families. (1/2)
Oregon does not need nor want the National Guard. President Trump's gross overreach of power shows that he believes he is above the Constitution. I am glad that a federal judge has granted a temporary restraining order on the Trump Admin from sending the California National Guard to Portland.
Today marks the beginning of Mental Illness Awareness Week 💚 We are stronger when we support one another, reduce stigma, and share potentially life-saving resources. Remember, you are not alone. The 988 Lifeline is always available to provide free, confidential help.
On National Child Health Day, we should be focused on ensuring children have access to high-quality & affordable care. Sadly, Republicans have shut down the government, jeopardizing health care for Americans. Children are the future, & we must safeguard health care so they lead healthy lives.
It's day 6 of the government shutdown, and I wanted to see if the SSA office was open, because online it said that they were closed. At the time of my visit, the office was open. If you need assistance with Social Security, the physical office is currently open, although services may be limited.
