The women who came forward today are the definition of bravery. Read my full statement below.
I’ll keep fighting to make higher education more affordable and accessible by lowering student loan interest rates, protecting programs like Pell Grants, and standing up for every student’s right to learn and succeed.
Great meeting with students from Napa Valley College. As a proud alumnus, I know firsthand the opportunities NVC provides and the impact it has on our community.
I asked the experts at today's hearing a simple question: Did we cure kidney disease? The answer was no. So why is the Trump Administration cutting grants for research funding? This is not the time to pull the plug on the science that could save lives.
Our ag community feeds the world, and I’ll keep fighting to make sure they have the support they need to thrive.
The sudden closure of a cannery in Modesto has left California peach growers without contracts. I’m leading a bipartisan effort to work with the USDA to provide $9 million in emergency assistance to help farmers transition to new crops and help them find stability again.
Congressional Republicans cut $1 trillion from Medicaid, kicked 15 million people off their insurance, and then called a hearing on preventing kidney disease. You can't prevent disease if you can't afford to see a doctor. People won't stop getting sick — they'll just stop getting treatment.
According to award-winning research, immigration does not increase crime, and it never has. www.sfchronicle.com/california/a...
Over 300 students have graduated from my Student Leadership Council, and this year's class was the largest in the program's history. These young leaders are already engaged in our community and making a difference, and I couldn't be more proud.

This war is already costing Americans at the pump, in their wallets, and with their lives. Now it's costing us our allies.
This is exactly what NOT to do when you're at war. Trump is now threatening NATO allies with a "very bad future" if they don't help secure the Strait of Hormuz. You don't win wars by alienating every ally you have.
Trump can't control the battlefield, so now he's trying to control what you see and hear about his unauthorized war.
While American servicemembers are dying in Iran, the Trump administration is threatening to strip broadcast licenses from any news outlet that is reporting on the war. This is censorship.
224 years ago, the United States Military Academy at West Point was founded. The academy has long produced America’s finest men and women who dedicate their lives to defending our country. As a veteran, nominating students to attend the academy is one of my greatest honors in Congress.
Continuing the war in Iran won't just put our troops in danger, it will spike your gas bills, drain your retirement accounts, expose our hospitals to cyberattacks, and send inflation through the roof.
5 years ago today, a gunman killed 8 people at 3 spas in Atlanta. Today, we remember those lost and hold their loved ones in our hearts. We must commit to enacting sensible policies to end gun violence in our communities.
Glad to see that the courts are resisting Trump’s attack on the incredibly hard-working staff at the VA. Stripping their contract is an attack on working class Americans, health care access, and our country’s veterans. Thank you, AFGE.

#Throwback to when I made a tandem parachute jump in Tucson, Arizona with Seal Team Six! This took me back to my days with the 173rd Airborne Division and as an instructor with the Army Airborne School.
This president knew his war with Iran would raise gas prices. California shouldn’t suffer for his bad decisions. This pipeline was already rejected by the courts and by Californians. It needs to stay shut down. I’ve always and will always oppose oil drilling off our beautiful coast.
Secured $850,000 in funding for the Napa Valley Vine Trail to help connect Yountville and St. Helena. The Vine Trail is a treasure for our community, and I can't wait to see all the walkers, cyclists and families who get to use the trail.
