Speaker Johnson is guilty of public policy malpractice. You need to work for ALL American people, not against them. Bring your Republicans back to Washington and work with Democrats to end this shutdown. Full stop.
And federal workers are being treated as collateral damage – that shouldn’t happen. These are people’s lives, not a game.
Make no mistake, nobody in America should be denied access to healthcare or be forced into bankruptcy because of their medical bills. We’re the richest country in the world and we feed the rest of the world – no child should go to school or to bed hungry.
There are countless things we could be doing during this shutdown – we can still vote, still hold hearings, and still pass legislation during a shutdown. If for no other reason, reconvene the House so that we can join Marjorie Taylor Greene in reading the Epstein files on the floor!
Jed was a dear friend whose presence filled every room. He was larger than life in stature and spirit. His vision and hard work helped put Lake County’s vineyards on the map. I’m grateful to have known him and to honor his memory.

Nancy Pelosi is the most successful speaker in our nation's history. I’ll always be proud to have served alongside her. Thank you, Madam Speaker.
It’s day 37 of the government shutdown and Republicans are still nowhere to be found. Democrats are here, ready to end this crisis, reopen the government, protect your health care, ensure federal employees are paid, and put food back on the table. Speaker Johnson needs to end Republicans’ vacation.
Today we honor the lives lost in the tragic shooting at First Baptist Church in Sutherland Springs eight years ago—the deadliest mass shooting in Texas history and at any American place of worship. We will never forget them as we continue working toward a future free from gun violence.
President Trump is interfering in the California election on Prop 50 by trying to nullify mail-in ballots despite him actively working with states to redistrict and cut out Democratic votes from Republican-led states. This president only cares about representation if it benefits Republicans.
My team and I are proud to serve #CA04! So far this year, we’ve closed 1,853 cases for constituents and recouped over $19 million in money owed to Fourth District residents. If you’re in need of help navigating a federal agency, please call my nearest office.
This president is blatantly breaking the law, AGAIN! After a judge ruled that the administration must pay out SNAP benefits from the contingency funds, they are yanking the promise they made YESTERDAY to pay out benefits. Time and time again, this president chooses to make AMERICANS SUFFER.
We’re fighting to lower your energy bills, tackle climate change, and ensure that the U.S. leads in the global energy economy.
Clean energy tax credits created hundreds of billions of dollars of investment in renewable energy in the United States. That’s why Democrats are working to bring those tax credits back after the Republicans passed their Big, Ugly Law.

I'm headed back to Washington to work for the American people can get the government reopened. Speaker Johnson, even the Senate Republican leadership says you need to call your people back from vacation. It's time you get to work.
Members of my staff will be hosting office hours in Rohnert Park this Wednesday, November 5 at the Rohnert Park People's Service Center. Sit down with members of my office and the city's office to discuss issues impacting you and our community.

I’m here with Community Action of Napa Valley to discuss how this decision will impact their operations and the growing number of families turning to them for help.
The Trump administration’s illegal halt of federal food assistance will hurt more than 144,000 people in our communities who rely on SNAP benefits. Food should never be weaponized — not in war, and not to influence a federal government shutdown.
One mom’s ACA plan for herself and her two kids will double in cost — nearly her entire yearly income — if tax credits aren’t renewed. Families shouldn’t have to choose between health and financial survival.
