This is shameful. It’s clear this administration wants to sow fear and chaos in our immigrant communities. They are targeting our family members, friends, and neighbors, not violent criminals like they promised. There’s no excuse for treating someone this way. www.npr.org/2025/06/27/n...
This administration is handing a free pass to their wealthy donors and guaranteeing billions of dollars lost in unpaid taxes. Americans deserve a government that works for them, not one that caters to the wealthy and the well-connected.
10 years ago today, the Supreme Court recognized the right to same-sex marriage nationwide. While we mark today’s milestone, we remember that the fight for equality is not over. I remain committed to protecting equal rights for all Americans.  www.nbcnews.com/nbc-out/out-...
Congressional Republicans’ bill to rip health care from 16 million people violates the Senate’s rules. Unfortunately, this isn’t the end. They’re already rewriting their bill to run around the rules and follow through with their bad plan. I’ll continue to fight this. thehill.com/homenews/sen...
The BSCA has provided $1 billion for mental health investments, $250M for community violence intervention, $750M for crisis intervention, expanded background checks, closed the “boyfriend” loophole, and more.
The first step in ending gun violence is understanding it. Thanks to the experts from across our country who joined the Gun Violence Prevention Task Force to strategize on how we can advance research into this deadly epidemic.
Congressman Mike Thompson, along with Congresswoman Jan Schakowsky (left), Congresswoman Lucy McBath (right), and Congressman Bobby Scoot (far right), listen to experts in Gun Violence Prevention research.
Congressional Republicans held a hearing today titled “Health at Your Fingertips.” It’s hard to take that seriously when they are working to rip health care out of the hands of 16 million Americans.
The 16 million people who will lose their health care thanks to the President and Congressional Republicans’ big, ugly bill aren’t going to just “get over it.” They are going to get sicker, and some will die. Congressional Republicans should be ashamed. www.newsweek.com/mitch-mcconn...
The big, ugly bill is getting uglier. New analysis shows the Senate’s version of the bill will cost taxpayers $4.2 trillion dollars — even more than the cost of the House’s version of the bill. This is a bad deal for the American people. www.politico.com/live-updates...
My team is hosting in-person office hours today, June 24th from 2 to 4pm. Please drop in to discuss with my team any support you may need and stay tuned for more sessions throughout our district.
A graphic with the logos of the U.S. House of Representatives, California State Senate, and Yolo County, with text stating: "Office Hours with the Offices of Congressman Mike Thompson, CA State Senator Christopher Cabaldon & Supervisor Angel Barajas. Sit down with staff members of federal, state, and local offices to discuss issues impacting you and our community. Tuesday, June 24th 2:00 PM to 4:00 PM at Capay Valley Health and Community Center, 17340 Yolo Avenue, Esparto, CA 95627"
When he contacted my team last year for help, we jumped in to resolve his case and ensured he received the coverage he was owed. If you’re a vet in need of help navigating the VA, call my nearest office. I’m here to help.
It’s day 174 of 2025 and we have had 176 mass shootings. That’s more mass shootings than days in the year so far. Enough is enough. This #GunViolenceAwarenessMonth we’re recommitting to the fight to end our gun violence epidemic.
Graphic that says "It's day 174 of 2025 and there have been 176 mass shootings."
