The Trump administration is rescinding vital protections that keep harmful pollutants out of the air we breathe. Another gift to the fossil fuel industry at expense of the public health. Another betrayal of the American people. Shameful.
These two ultra-extremist members of the Netanyahu government have called for what amounts to the ethnic cleansing of Palestinians from Gaza and annexation of the West Bank. Sanctioning them was the right move and more should join in taking this action.
This has always been a two-step plan. First they fire federal employees dedicated to serving the American people, then they replace them with political hacks dedicated to serving Donald Trump. It's not "government efficiency." It's pure political cronyism. We must stop it.
The same president who wants to cut $800B from Medicaid and strip health care from 16 million Americans to fund tax cuts for billionaires...is spending $134M to send troops to CA and $45M on his birthday parade in DC. Burning taxpayer dollars to play king. Un-American.
Trump's so-called "Big, Beautiful Bill" brings a sledgehammer to clean energy in America — hurting our fight against climate change while raising energy costs and slashing good-paying jobs.   That may be "beautiful" for Big Oil, but it's just another betrayal for working people.
Bukele's crackdown on journalists, dissent and free speech under his regime's so-called "Foreign Agents Law" is destroying any semblance of democracy in El Salvador. It's no surprise that this cowardly authoritarian has found a friend and co-conspirator in Donald Trump.
Ten El Faro reporters left El Salvador as a precaution after publishing a series of interviews with gang members alleging long-standing ties between President Nayib Bukele and criminal groups. CPJ spoke with El Faro Editor-in-Chief Óscar Martínez on the toll of the persecution. cpj.org?p=484544
What Trump is doing in California is right out of the authoritarian playbook. Violence is never acceptable — period. But people have the right to peaceful protest. Trump needs to let local law enforcement do its job and stop adding fuel to the fire for his political spectacle.
Trump has undermined our independent judiciary here at home and is now attacking judges overseas. Whatever one thinks of the ICC's opinions, sanctioning these judges is a mafia-type response and more Trump/Rubio lawlessness. Our European allies are right to protect the rule of law.
The @ec.europa.eu fully supports the ICC and its officials. The ICC holds perpetrators of the world’s gravest crimes to account and gives victims a voice. It must be free to act without pressure. We will always stand for global justice and the respect of international law.
Glad to see Johns Hopkins and the University of Maryland supporting Harvard as it resists Trump’s lawlessness and bullying. This is what leadership looks like. Shame on those caving to Trump’s abuses of power and assault on our Constitution.
On National Gun Violence Awareness Day, we #WearOrange in solidarity with those who have lost loved ones to gun violence and those working every day to end this epidemic. I won't stop fighting for common-sense gun safety legislation to save lives⬇️
Elon Musk must've taken a big dose of truth serum, because he's absolutely right: the GOP tax bill would blow up the deficit by $3 trillion — and that's AFTER they cut health care for 16 million people. This bill is only "beautiful" for billionaires. For everyone else, it's the Great Betrayal.
After months of ignoring our Constitution, it seems the Trump Administration has relented to our demands for compliance with court orders and due process for Kilmar Abrego Garcia. This has never been about the man — it’s about his constitutional rights and the rights of all. Full statement:
Yesterday a judge ruled those wrongly deported to El Salvador MUST be given due process—and today Democracy Forward & others announced a lawsuit against these unconstitutional actions.  The Trump Admin must be held accountable for its corrupt "cash for collusion" deal with Bukele.
This Maryland business is one of many around the country that will be forced to raise prices because of Trump's tariff chaos.   They understand something Trump can't seem to grasp: these tariffs are a tax on AMERICANS. How is that 'America First'?
Picking on Harvard may be politically convenient, but every institution should be alarmed by this abuse of presidential power. I stand with those who refuse to bend to Trump’s bullying and lawlessness. Shame on those who don’t.
I’m closely monitoring the oil spill in Baltimore. I’m in touch with officials on the ground as well as Gov. Moore and Mayor Scott, and I appreciate their efforts alongside the U.S. Coast Guard to contain and clean up this spill.
Republicans like to call their legislation a “Big, Beautiful Bill.” Today the nonpartisan CBO showed us the truth: their bill would kick almost 11 million people off their health insurance & balloon the deficit by $2.4T. That’s not “beautiful”—it’s the Great Betrayal in action.
The Trump admin has illegally fired THOUSANDS of federal employees who work every day to deliver for the American people.   People like Keri in MD — whose work promoted US manufacturing & jobs, until she was fired. I shared her story in a hearing with Sec. Lutnick this morning:
