Trump's ICE and CBP have detained nearly 300 Dreamers and deported 90. This includes Dreamers like Juan Chavez Velasco who was detained on his way to visit his baby in the NICU. We must keep speaking out and make it clear that for Dreamers, #HomeIsHere.
Trump's impulsive, deranged posts are completely unacceptable and show a total disregard for humanity and the ideals our nation has upheld for centuries. These threats need to end immediately.
On Farmworkers Day, we recognize the millions of workers, families, and organizers who keep our nation fed and helped shape an enduring movement for fair pay and rights. Today, we honor them and continue the fight for dignity, safety, and fair treatment on the job.
As Interim Executive Director of the National City Chamber of Commerce, President of the Maytime Band Review’s Salute to Veterans Community Parade and Treasurer of both the National City Rotary Club and the Police & Fire Foundation, Karen has made meaningful contributions across our communities.
I voted no on Speaker Johnson's CR. House Republicans are refusing to fund TSA, the Coast Guard, and FEMA unless it includes funding for ICE — the agency that has murdered innocent people and terrorized our communities. Shameful. No blank checks for ICE.
"The president has long criticized mail-in voting, despite studies showing that about 1 in 3 Americans voted by mail in 2024... Trump did not have to vote by mail. He was in Palm Beach over the weekend, and early in-person voting was available through Sunday."
Congress could fund TSA today. But Republicans have blocked these efforts because they want a blank check for ICE included as well. Sending ICE agents into airports to harass travelers is not a solution, it's a recipe for even more chaos. ICE needs to get out of our airports now.
Not enough. Trump's DHS has terrorized our communities and murdered innocent people like Renee Good and Alex Pretti. From Bovino to Noem, everyone involved needs to be held accountable.
Top Border Patrol official Gregory Bovino, who led controversial immigration sweeps in Democratic-led cities, has told people he plans to retire at the end of the month, according to two sources familiar with the discussions. https://cnn.it/4ryo8JW
DOGE was a disaster from day one. Now, a new whistleblower report is alleging that a DOGE employee stored the private information of 500M+ Americans onto a personal thumb drive and planned to give it to their private employer. Unacceptable and needs a full investigation.
Laws already limit assistance to U.S. citizens and eligible non-citizens, so partial rental assistance covers only the eligible family members. This cruel rule would separate families with mixed immigration status and evict them from the major housing programs. Read more here:
Kristi Noem has been a total disaster at DHS. I called for her to be impeached or step down. She’s been fired, but her replacement cannot be more of the same. ICE's violence and chaos must end.
Breaking News: Kristi Noem has been fired as homeland security secretary by President Trump, who picked Senator Markwayne Mullin of Oklahoma to replace her. Follow live updates. trib.al/znvv0xP
