These rulings not only further undermine the fundamental right to asylum, they also put thousands of TPS holders in danger - our neighbors who registered with the government, were vetted, and trusted the process. The cruelty is the point for this Administration.
Today marks four years since Roe v. Wade was overturned, stripping away the right to reproductive care for millions and putting lives on the line. Everyone should have the freedom to make decisions about their body and future. We will keep fighting to make this a reality.
Congress just came together to pass the most significant bipartisan bill in decades to lower housing costs. At the last minute, Trump is refusing to sign it.
Fox News hosts are dumbfounded by Trump's refusal to sign the bipartisan housing bill: This housing bill was bipartisan. It was gonna help out young homebuyers who can't afford to buy a house right now. Is there political risk in canceling this ceremony? This is something everybody wanted.
This legislation will help us boost our housing supply, increase homeownership opportunities, and lower costs. It's a major step forward, but the fight to make sure affordable housing is within reach for families continues. We won't let up.
On June 19, 1865, enslaved people in Galveston, TX learned they were free — over two years after the Emancipation Proclamation. As we commemorate Juneteenth and the end of slavery in the United States, we recommit ourselves to the unfinished work of justice, opportunity, and equality for all.
Today marks 14 years of DACA. Dreamers strengthen our communities, contribute to our economy, and have built their lives here. As Trump continues to attack DACA, we must provide permanent protections and a pathway to citizenship for Dreamers. #HomeIsHere #ProtectDreamers
Trump's ICE has beaten, brutalized, and even murdered innocent people. Instead of demanding accountability, Republicans sent another blank check. I've been clear from the start. Not one penny more for Trump’s ICE and the Administration’s violent anti-immigrant crackdown.
SHAMEFUL: Republicans just voted to send $70 BILLION to ICE. That's on top of the $170 billion they authorized for the agency last summer. They chose to hand another $70 billion to an agency that continues to terrorize our communities with absolutely no guardrails. I voted NO.
Early this morning, the Senate voted to give ICE $70 billion more as this rogue agency continues to terrorize our communities. No reforms or changes made. The House must reject this funding. Not one penny more for Trump’s ICE.
Happy Pride! This month, as we celebrate the resilience and enormous achievements of the LGBTQI+ community, we also reaffirm our commitment to fight for justice and equality for all.
As owners of a family-owned small business and active members of the Downtown Chula Vista Association, Priscilla and Fernando work hard every day to enrich and strengthen our community. Wishing them many years of continued success!
