Last week, Nathan from my team joined City of Fredericksburg and Spotsylvania County officials to present a letter of appreciation to the monks for their Walk for Peace.   What a powerful, historic moment to witness our community come together in the name of peace.
I stopped by Little Union Baptist Church for Dumfries’ annual Black History Month celebration.   It was wonderful to see the community come together to celebrate progress and reaffirm a shared commitment to preserve Black history.
The Department of Veterans Affairs’ latest veteran suicide prevention report is a wake-up call.  61% of veterans who died by suicide in 2023 were not receiving VA health care beforehand.  I’m working to make sure VA health centers are fully staffed and there when they’re needed.
On Saturday, I joined the Venerable Monks as they passed through Prince William County on their Walk for Peace.   Their mission is inspiring and deeply needed. As they conclude their 2,300-mile journey today, I’m grateful for their message of hope.
It was great to meet with Pranav Vedula, the winner of the 2025 VA-07 Congressional App Challenge, at Colonial Forge High School on Monday.

He created ReCheck — a productivity app for those experiencing memory loss. I was highly impressed by his creativity!
TODAY: My dedicated constituent services and legislative teams are hosting virtual drop-in office hours from 12-1 PM!  I hope you'll stop by if you're experiencing an issue with a federal agency, program, or benefit.
I secured more than $800,000 in federal funding to update the process for water treatment in the Town of Orange. I’m proud to help deliver this investment in addressing critical, century-old infrastructure to strengthen water quality and reliability for the community.
I was honored to present PWC students with copies of the Congressional Record following this year’s Martin Luther King Jr. Youth Oratorical Contest. Read more about these impressive middle and high schoolers in the Prince William Times 👇
As a former prosecutor, I know we need to fund our local police to keep our community safe. That's why I'm proud to have secured more than $2.75 MILLION in funding to invest in critical law enforcement and public safety projects in VA-07.
WEDNESDAY: My team is hosting virtual drop-in office hours from 12-1 PM! Do you have an issue with a federal program or agency — like Social Security, Medicare, or the VA — that you need help getting resolved? Stop by and chat with my team!
I secured more than $1 MILLION for critical water infrastructure improvements in Greene County and Stanardsville.   These investments will help keep utility costs down and ensure clean, reliable water for the community — now and for years to come.
Congratulations to Alexandra Vakos on being one of three prosecutors at her level honored by the Virginia Association of Commonwealth’s Attorneys this year.  I am grateful for Alexandra's commitment to justice. I was honored to recognize her on the U.S. House floor as my 'Constituent of the Week.'
It was great to hear the insights of community advocates, providers, and elected officials at my global maternal health roundtable with the Southern Black Girls and Women’s Consortium. In Congress, I’m committed to improving outcomes for mothers by strengthening maternal health care.
It was great to meet with AP Government students from The Carmel School in Caroline County. These bright students asked thoughtful questions, and we had a great discussion about the future of Congress.   I hope you had a wonderful visit to the nation's capital!
It was an honor to attend the 41st Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Youth Oratorical Contest in Prince William County.  Thank you to the PWC Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. for hosting another outstanding event that uplifts Dr. King’s legacy by elevating the voices of our youth.
The Supreme Court ruled in their favor, striking down Virginia laws that banned interracial marriage.   Because of her deep belief in equality and support of the freedom to marry for all, Mildred Loving helped expand civil rights for generations to come. (2/2)
