This Mental Health Awareness Month highlights the need for mental health care that is affordable and within reach.    I’m leading multiple bills focused on studying and strengthening support for veterans and youth mental health. In Congress, I will continue pushing for more resources for Virginians.
🚨 I'm leading a bill with Rep. Pat Ryan to lower prescription drug costs for service members, military families, and veterans. This commonsense bill would reduce the crushing cost of prescription drugs for those who have served while saving taxpayers BILLIONS.
🔔TODAY: My constituent services team and I are hosting in-person office hours in Dumfries from 3-4 PM.       I hope you'll come by if you’re experiencing an issue with Social Security, Medicare, the VA, or another federal program.
Last week, I visited the Virginia National Guard Armory and met with Adjutant General MG James Ring and his leadership team.   I’m grateful to the dedicated men and women who work every day to keep Virginia prepared and secure.
I am proud to recognize Richard E. Toye Sr. as my ‘Constituent of the Week’ on the U.S. House Floor.  Mr. Toye is a 98-year-old World War II veteran, Spotsylvania County resident, and longtime volunteer with Big Brothers Big Sisters and United Way.  Thanks for all you do!
Congratulations to my 2026 Congressional Art Competition Winner, Marilyn Williams.    Marilyn’s winning piece “Jazz & Groceries” will hang in the U.S. Capitol alongside winners from across the country.     I’m proud to have your work representing our district!
THURSDAY: My constituent services team and I are hosting in-person office hours in Dumfries from 3-4 PM.       If you’re experiencing an issue with Social Security, Medicare, the VA, or another federal program, I hope you'll stop by.   My team and I are here to help!
President Trump is proposing a $1.5 TRILLION defense budget.  He would rather pour resources into his illegal war of choice than invest in health care and child care here at home.   We cannot allow Washington Republicans to rubber-stamp this reckless agenda.
Congratulations to Eugene Triplett on being named an Aging Together '5 Over 65' honoree. From raising cattle on his farm to serving his neighbors as a pharmacist, he has demonstrated a lifelong commitment to hard work and community service. Culpeper is stronger because of leaders like Eugene.
🚨NEWS: I’m leading an effort to ban service members from using prediction markets to place national security-related bets. Those entrusted with access to sensitive information have a duty to protect it — not use it for personal gain. We need clear rules to uphold the integrity of our military.
On #InternationalWorkersDay, we honor those who keep our communities strong and our economy moving forward. As a member of the Labor Caucus, I'm proud to stand with them. I will keep fighting to help them secure the pay, dignity, and protections they deserve.
A fifth-grade class from Stafford wrote me about the importance of lowering costs and expanding access to healthy foods. They’re right — and that’s why I couldn’t support this Farm Bill. As the only Virginian on the Ag Committee, I’m working hard to address the concerns of the next generation.
I'm leading a bill to close an unfair loophole that shifts the cost of billionaires' private jets onto working families. It makes no sense that billionaires get tax breaks on private jets while working families pay full price at the pump and the checkout line. Read more below👇
Reopening the government is long overdue. The Senate passed this bipartisan bill over a month ago, and I encouraged Speaker Johnson and the House GOP to back it from the beginning. Instead, they held federal workers’ pay hostage & refused to negotiate, only to pass the same agreement in the end.
I voted “no” on the Farm Bill because it would make life more difficult for farmers and families.    House Republicans have brought forward a bill that prioritizes large corporations over our nation’s producers.    I remain committed to standing up for Virginia’s farmers.
Today, I voted against reauthorizing Section 702 of the Foreign Intelligence Surveillance Act. This administration has shown a brazen willingness to weaponize the justice system. Under leadership that respects norms and the rule of law, my vote would have been different.
