New: On Monday, HHS withdrew guidance reminding nursing-home owners they can’t impede residents from voting. The administration replaced it with a new memo alluding to instances when Republicans sicced sheriffs and prosecutors on people helping nursing-home residents vote.
Sen. Wyden: I was just home for town hall meetings in rural Oregon, where Trump got over 70% of the vote, and the farmers told me they're barely hanging on to family farms. Small businesses are closing after tariffs made their businesses impossible. The Trump tariffs cost the average family $1,700
This bill WOULD block the November ban from going into effect. I do have a separate bill that would keep hemp on the market with strong consumer protections (more on that in the link below). A one size fits all approach clearly doesn’t work here, and I’m going to keep at it.
From Day One, Trump's get-out-of-jail-free plan has reeked of corruption. Now, a federal judge is saying loud and clear that it’s illegal. The Trump administration is breaking the law by shielding Donald Trump and his family from tax audits.
The only election interference happening in this country is coming straight from the White House, and no amount of pathetic late night rambling from a failing, fading president will change anyone’s mind
Correct. I asked Senator Blackburn to support a Finance Committee subpoena for the Treasury’s Epstein files and she refused. Those files are still being hidden at the Treasury Department.
Sen Blackburn complains that during the Biden admin, she couldn't subpoena Epstein files. The difference? DOJ was involved in ongoing prosecution/appeals of Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell & the records could not be released until her appeal was finalized. It's disingenuous, at best.
@merkley.senate.gov and @wyden.senate.gov demanded answers from Sec. Kennedy and Dr. Oz after they stacked Trump's Healthcare Advisory Committee with Trump insiders, corporate executives, and members with MAJOR industry investments. Americans deserve better for their healthcare.
Senator Ron Wyden @wyden.senate.gov, ranking member of the Senate Finance Committee, has written to the project contractors and to HHS Secretary RFK Jr., expressing "grave concerns" over ICE kids facility set to be run by LaSalle Corrections' nonprofit arm. www.theguardian.com/us-news/2026...
I cannot support a blank check for Trump's illegal war in Iran and fast-tracking deeply troubling and dangerous surveillance collaboration with Netanyahu’s government. I voted no.
Senate Democrats have blocked Republicans' National Defense Authorization Act, which would've given an additional $1,100,000,000,000 to the Department of War and deepened military ties with Israel
New: RFK Jr is facing a Hatch Act complaint after intervening in congressional races. @wyden.senate.gov has asked the Office of Special Counsel to investigate RFK Jr’s phone calls + offers to third-party candidates, where RFK Jr said he would help them if they dropped out.
The Trump administration is trying to make it easier for Big Tech to build a data center in your backyard to pollute your air and drinking water. We need strong, comprehensive legislation to crack down on the chaos data centers are causing in our communities and I'm working to get it done.
A new EPA proposal would weaken the Clean Air Act and pave the way for data center construction – and we’re opposing it. Part of keeping communities safe is making sure our air is safe to breathe, and our water is safe to drink. We’ll keep fighting to protect Oregonians. #orpol
AG Rayfield opposes EPA's proposal to weaken Clean Air Act
“This proposal from the EPA would let companies build first and worry about air quality standards later – if at all. That puts our state in a dangerous position as we want to make sure our air is free of pollutants and our water is safe to drink. Oregonians shouldn’t have to choose between economic development and staying healthy.”
AG Rayfield and a multistate coalition are opposing a proposed rule from the EPA that would allow air pollution sources to begin construction without getting a permit first. The EPA wants to change the definitions of phrases like “begin actual construction” and “pollutant-emitting activities.” This new rule would put political pressure on agencies like DEQ to cut corners and issue permits – even if facilities (like data centers) are nearly built, but do not meet air quality standards.
