His strong voice for human and civil rights unites us in the fight for justice and embodies the spirit that my dear departed friend Alcee fought so hard for.

So overjoyed to present my 3rd Annual Alcee L. Hastings Civil Rights & Social Justice Award to New Mount Olive Baptist Church Pastor Dr. Marcus D. Davidson.
Congressional Republicans have made it clear they'd rather shut DHS down than work with Democrats to reform DHS and ICE.
Americans are clear: masks need to come off, body cameras need to be on, and the Constitution must be followed.
America deserves better than Trump’s corrupt agenda that puts himself and his billionaire friends over working people.
“Affordability” isn’t a buzzword, it’s a promise to bring back the American Dream: if you work hard, you should be able to provide a good life for your family.
Trump is still hiding the Epstein files. Survivors deserve justice. America deserves transparency.

Instead of cutting costs Trump illegally taxed us with tariffs that stole about $1600 from families. But SCOTUS was clear: it was all illegal. Trump says he'll find a workaround, but Democrats will fight any attempt to illegally tax you and raise your cost of living.

Andrew Windsor’s arrest looks like a measure of long-overdue accountability for survivors of Epstein’s unspeakable crimes. Other nations have pursued real justice, too. Yet Trump's White House continues its cover up. It's time for these brave victims to get US justice.
Trump and Republicans promised to lower costs, but prices keep skyrocketing.
Electric bills are up 13%.
15M Americans had health insurance ripped away.
And tariffs cost families $1600 last year.
All to lower taxes for billionaires.
I joined @AppropsDems Ranking Member Delauro in criticizing @DeptVetAffairs leaders for reversing a key gun safety policy that protects veterans who pose a threat to themselves or others. "Countless veterans will needlessly die..." Full statement: democrats-appropriations.house.gov/news/press-r...
Trump's DHS and ICE are out of control.
Speaker Johnson and House Republicans would rather shut down TSA, FEMA, and the Coast Guard than work with Democrats to give the American people what they want: ICE accountability and reforms.
Loved meeting with Broward College President Torey Alston (as always!) to discuss the school's growth and how I can continue to support it.
I proudly secured $1.85 million in federal investments to support their aviation program, and will always advocate for them in Congress.
Healthcare is under attack & we must do all we can to defend it.
I work with Florida Association of Community Health Centers to ensure Florida gets the federal investments we need to care for vulnerable families, lower healthcare costs & improve the services offered by our community health centers.
Rev. Jackson’s legacy is exemplified by his words, “Both tears and sweat are salty, but they render a different result. Tears will get you sympathy; sweat will get you change.”
My heart is with his family. May he rest in power & his memory be for a blessing.
The $150B in DHS funding that Republicans stole from Medicare and Medicaid in their Big, Ugly Law is clearly not being spent in line with American values.
The senseless, brutal violence has to end. The DHS agents at fault must be held accountable, as should DHS leadership.
Today we honor American leaders who met adversity with honesty and courage.
While Trump ignores everyday Americans to help wealthy elites, this Presidents Day I vow to fight for you and honor past leaders who served all American families with courage.
A year ago, Republicans promised to tackle rising prices. Yet they’ve only gone up, with not a single bill brought to the House floor to meaningfully confront rising costs.
Let’s be clear: the cost-of-living crisis is very real, and we can fix it if we act.
The anniversary of the shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas reminds us to act so no one else loses loved ones to gun violence.
I joined @fredguttenberg.bsky.social to reintroduce Jaime's Law to honor his daughter, who was killed in the that shooting, and help prevent further gun violence.
Eight years ago a mass shooting at Marjory Stoneman Douglas High School stole 17 lives from us.
I’m proud that survivors turned grief into a movement to #EndGunViolence. We must honor them by enacting sensible reforms to save lives.
Happy Valentines Day FL-25!
So glad to join Hepburn Center seniors to celebrate and show some love to my constituents. Proud to fight for their health, safety and financial security.
