Wondering what’s going on with the vote-a-rama? For the last 24 hrs, I’ve been answering your questions on my Instagram stories – follow me at senatorwarner for live updates on the tax scam’s prospects, how I fuel for an all-nighter, and the real story of how Tim Kaine and I met.
7 AM update. Been fighting this terrible, cruel, bullshit bill for almost 24 hours. Egg McMuffin in hand, I’m not backing down from trying to protect millions of Americans’ health insurance.
Sick and tired of Republican Senators coming to me privately saying, “Mark, keep speaking up, you’re our conscience.” I don’t want to be their damn conscience. I want them to vote their conscience.
ICYMI — I’m doing an “ask me anything” on my Instagram stories. Follow me at senatorwarner (and tap on my highlight AMA: tax scam) to submit questions and hear about how I’m fighting this horrible, cruel bill.
Wow. Under Senate Republicans’ latest scheme to gut Medicaid, more than 900,000 Virginians could lose their health insurance. There’s still time to stop this if my Republican colleagues can find the courage to do the right thing.
The Senate will soon vote on a bill to slash Medicaid – one that would wreak havoc for millions of families. I’ll be voting no because people like Robert shouldn’t have to bear the burden of another tax break for the ultra-wealthy.
For years, Robert cared for his severely disabled child while holding down a job at a local juvenile detention center. Now, Robert is retired and his 41-year-old-son relies on Medicaid for full-time care.
