Trump chose to cut off SNAP benefits for 1 in 8 Rhode Islanders and is still dragging his feet despite two court orders. Thankfully, leaders across our state are stepping up to help those in need. Find out more about state and local resources ⤵️ amo.house.gov/what-to-know...
Trump is making it easier for criminals & terrorists to get assault weapons by eliminating gun export rules. Joined @warren.senate.gov, @durbin.senate.gov, @joaquincastrotx.bsky.social, @meeks.house.gov & 54 Congressional colleagues demanding Trump stop risking Americans to protect the gun industry.
Saddened to learn about the loss of my friend and New England pathbreaking leader, Setti Warren. During his leadership of Newton, MA & the Harvard IOP, his uncommon personal touch always made an impact. I extend my condolences to his family and loved ones.

Glad to discuss ALS United RI’s work supporting Rhode Islanders with ALS and their families. While Trump and Republicans refuse to protect health care for millions, I’ll keep fighting in Congress to lower costs & fund ALS research.
Celebrated the generations of Rhode Island veterans who served our nation with our uniquely RI tradition, WaterFire. When we come together, we can bring light into the darkness and uplift our shared appreciation of patriotism, service, and sacrifice for the country we love.
In Pawtucket, I joined the ELISHA Project and volunteers to pack food & supplies for Rhode Islanders in need.   Proud of Rhode Islanders stepping up to help our community. Trump and Republicans must comply and provide food assistance families rely on.
RI’ers are standing together, despite Trump’s illegal & cruel threats to SNAP benefits 1 in 8 Rhode Islanders rely on — after cutting the program by $187 billion in his Big, Ugly Bill. I joined neighbors at Mt. Hope Community Center in Providence to pack boxes & keep RIers fed.
Wishing a meaningful Día de los Muertos to all those observing in Rhode Island and across the world.  May this day bring joyful remembrance and remind us that community and culture endure through generations.
Happy Halloween, RI!🎃🍬 Had to stop by the Kent Heights Halloween Celebration in East Providence & the Billy Taylor Trunk or Treat in Providence to see great costumes, share candy, and celebrate with our community.
🚨 A federal judge in Rhode Island just ordered Trump to pay November SNAP benefits🚨 Trump must comply & stop his illegal & cruel choices to let Americans go hungry. We need to continue to hold Trump accountable & make sure families get the food they need. www.providencejournal.com/story/news/p...
13 years after Hurricane Sandy pummeled the Northeast, I joined the @housedemocrats.bsky.social & Senate Democrats calling for Trump to protect Americans from climate change.   Bills like my Stop NOAA Closures Act is key to stopping Trump from abandoning the fight against climate change.
We can’t go back. From #SuperstormSandy to #HurricaneMelissa, extreme weather disasters have become too frequent due to climate change. We won’t stand by while the Trump administration jeopardizes our health and safety. #ActOnClimate.
Joined @hakeem-jeffries.bsky.social, @housedemocrats.bsky.social, Rev. Dr. Barber, and advocates from @unitethepoor.bsky.social who are being devastated by the Big, Ugly Law, Republican shutdown & skyrocketing Affordable Care Act costs.
Antisemitism has no place anywhere. Not in Smithfield, RI, or our world.   Stood w/ the Jewish Alliance of RI, RI’s faith leaders, & elected officials to firmly condemn antisemitism & hate.   We must work together to ensure no one is targeted because of who they are or their beliefs.
Welcomed RI small business leaders to discuss expanding access to capital, improving workforce training & reopening SBA. Republicans in Washington need to come back to work & focus on job creators to help grow our economy.
Trump’s refusal to fund November SNAP also threatens Eat Well, Be Well, Rhode Island’s nation-leading program to help buy healthy food, like produce. This is another cruel choice that makes our neighbors sicker, poorer & hungrier. www.bostonglobe.com/2025/10/28/m...
Trump has been busy since House Republicans skipped town: 🧨Knocking down the historic East Wing to build a ballroom 🤑Bailing out Argentina 🛶Launching unauthorized military strikes in the Pacific & Caribbean And doing nothing to help Americans afford food and health care.
❗️Republican Shutdown Day 29 ❗️ ❤️‍🩹Health insurance premiums going up on average 26% 🥫42 million Americans’ SNAP at risk 💵Millions of federal workers missing paychecks House Republicans? Still on vacation.
