Thrilled to kick off another Americorps #ServiceYear! Last year AmeriCorps RI volunteers completed 140,000 service hours. I’m grateful for your work and can’t wait to see what you accomplish this year. I'll always have your back in Congress.
Honored to celebrate Diwali with some of Rhode Island’s Indian-American community! It was a reminder that we must strive to ensure that hope is stronger than despair, and light triumphs over darkness 🪔
Across the country, Americans are getting notices of eye-popping increases showing just how much Trump & Republicans are driving up the price of their monthly insurance payments. Share your increases & health care story as I fight for Congress to act.
Trump is keeping our government shut down & raising health insurance costs instead of making care affordable.   Want to see how much more D.C. Republicans are OK making YOU pay in 2026?   RIers should check out HealthSource RI’s new comparison tool at ri26.checkbookhealth.org#/
Attention #RI01 Middle and High School Students Don't forget to submit your apps for the Congressional App Challenge by October 30! Find more info on how to enter on my website: amo.house.gov/services/con...
It’s #NationalAppChallengeDay and a great reminder for #RI01 middle and high school students to submit their apps by October 30th! Last year, Portsmouth’s Seryn Lee was able to present her winning app at the Capitol! Find more info on my website⤵️ amo.house.gov/services/con...
Trump and Congressional Republicans are holding the government hostage and refusing to help all Americans, red and blue states alike, afford their health care.
Nice to see @bostonglobe.com highlight my intern Leah’s respectful political discussions with friends at Salve Regina! Looking forward to welcoming her and our office’s other fantastic interns back as soon we’re able.
Trump is launching deadly strikes on boats in the Pacific and Caribbean.   @houseforeign.bsky.social demands a hearing on his unchecked power, because only Congress has the Constitutional right to declare war.
🚨🚨 RM @meeks.house.gov is demanding this committee hold a hearing on the Trump admin’s unauthorized military strikes in the Caribbean and Pacific that have killed at least 37 people. Congress must reclaim its constitutional authority over matters of war and peace.
Emergency rooms like RI Hospital & Hasbro Children’s Hospital will be hit hard from the double whammy of the Big, Ugly Law’s Medicaid cuts & the Republican health care crisis.   I’m fighting to lift up #RI01 voices to stop the cuts, lower costs, and save health care.
House Republicans shut down the government rather than lower health care costs & are jeopardizing November SNAP payments for millions, including 91,000 RI families. Joined @repjahanahayes.bsky.social calling on USDA to use their reserve funds & send out benefits. Let’s make sure families can eat.
Trump’s tariffs are driving inflation higher and costs up for consumers & small businesses. Now, he’s stopped talking to Canada, our 2nd biggest trading partner, because they hurt his feelings. Trump’s economy = a ballroom for billionaires & higher prices for everyone else.
Amidst the Trump shutdown, I met with members of SEIU 1199 NE to hear how the administration’s policies are hurting working people.    From rising costs for health care & food to violent immigration enforcement, I’ll keep fighting the cruelty that’s hurting Rhode Island families.
‼️Attention Rhode Islanders‼️ Have you recently received your new health care premiums from HealthSourceRI? Please email me your story at: Amo.Office@mail.house.gov
#RI01 have you received a notice of skyrocketing health insurance premiums for 2026? If so, I want to hear your story. Reach out to me at amo.office@mail.house.gov so I can share your story and hold Republicans accountable for their health care crisis.
Killed in the 1983 Beirut barracks bombing while on a peace keeping mission to Lebanon, the Rhode Island IX gave the last full measure of devotion to our country. On the anniversary of that terrible day, we remember their service and sacrifice.
