House GOP walked away from a bipartisan deal. This is a last-minute Hail Mary that guts health care for kids to please the richest man on the planet. It’s a no from me. We deserve better.
Servicemembers and federal workers going without pay, long TSA lines, spotty food safety inspections, and general chaos seem to be on the House GOP Christmas list.   We wouldn't be in this mess if Republicans hadn't bowed to Elon Musk and Donald Trump.
1️⃣ Day 8️⃣Hours until House GOP temper tantrum shuts down the government. In Rhode Island, this would mean: 8,801 federal employees furloughed or forced to work without pay 🚫 7,600 unpaid active duty/reserve servicemembers 🎖️ and that’s just the beginning…⏰
In case you needed further proof of which side is which: House GOP = taking marching orders from the world’s wealthiest person House Democrats = fighting to keep government open and pay our troops through the holidays
ICYMI: I joined @iandonnis.bsky.social last week to share happenings in my first year in office and my focus on holding the next Administration accountable, addressing Americans’ priorities, and making our voices heard in the next Congress. Check out the link below for more: ⬇️
Gabe Amo (@amo.house.gov) joins me on Political Roundtable to discuss where Democrats went wrong, what’s next, the pardon for Hunter Biden, his expectations for the Trump administration + more thepublicsradio.org/political-ro...
Following the recent RI Bridges cyberattack, I joined @reed.senate.gov, @whitehouse.senate.gov, and @magaziner.house.gov in urging the federal government to help Rhode Islanders enrolled in critical affected programs like SNAP and Medicaid continue to secure their benefits.
The RIBridges cyberattack put the personal data of hundreds of thousands of RIers at risk. Along with the delegation, I’m urging fed gov’t agencies to coordinate efforts w/ the state to help keep participants enrolled in critical programs like Medicaid, SNAP, & TANF.
Joined faith and community leaders last night to celebrate the Christmas season at the King’s Tabernacle Royal Banquet. Thank you to Pastor Chris for bringing us together for a great evening!
Rhode Islanders affected by the RIBridges data breach can take the following steps to protect your sensitive information:   ❄️ Freeze your credit Set up 2️⃣-factor authentication A call center will also be open M - F from 9 AM to 9 PM ☎️ Call: 833-918-6603
In this season of giving, I joined Hearts of Kindness, the Unity Project, and Cape Verdean American Community Development in Pawtucket to give away toys and spread holiday cheer!
Thank you to the dedicated team at Community Angels who worked around the clock to bring smiles to the faces of more than 3,000 children and families today at their toy giveway!
12 years after #SandyHook, we remember the 26 lives senselessly cut short by gun violence. We must stay at our work to #EndGunViolence and that’s why I’ll continue to advance legislation to stem the flow of guns to our communities.
Happy 10th anniversary of being a national park, Blackstone Valley National Historical Park! With the recent discovery of an 18th-century chocolate mill on the grounds, this jewel of our state & region shapes our understanding of the Blackstone Valley’s history.
Today, I’m proud to join supporters of common-sense gun safety measures to introduce the Responsible Retirement of Law Enforcement Firearms Act. This legislation will help stem the flow of former police weapons and curb the epidemic of gun violence that is tearing communities apart.
A CBS News investigation found that over 52,000 retired police guns have been found at crime scenes in the U.S. since 2006. With such a clear connection, we need federal legislation to prevent these weapons from ending up in the wrong hands.
Congress has an end of year to-do list a mile long — funding the government, passing the NDAA, and bringing down costs for American families. What are House Republicans putting on the floor instead? The Liberty in Laundry Act. Seriously???
Excited to serve as a Co-Chair of Future Forum Congress alongside Rep. Pettersen and @repmcgarvey.bsky.social This new generation of leaders will be defending our values, advocating for common sense solutions and advancing economic prosperity for every American. Let’s get to work!
