Parents already have enough to worry about. Paying more for backpacks and notebooks because of Trump's tariffs shouldn't be one of them. My Back-to-School Supplies Affordability Act would exempt essential school supplies from Trump's tariffs and help lower costs for families.
These Republicans holding Dr. Fauci in contempt is so unserious. RFK Jr. has lied to me every single hearing I've been in with him. Cyclospora is spreading and measles is on the rise. What we should focus on is firing RFK Jr.
As costs rise, essential home modifications shouldn't be out of reach. My bill with @kirstengillibrand.bsky.social would create a tax credit to help seniors afford upgrades like ramps, handrails, and wider doorways, so more older Americans can safely age in place.
Happy National Oyster Day! 🦪 The Chesapeake Bay gives Maryland so much, and oysters give back by helping keep its waters healthy. Proud to celebrate one of our state's greatest treasures and the people who work every day to protect it.

AI is creating incredible opportunities, but it's also making scams more convincing. These scams don't just steal money—they steal dignity, independence, and peace of mind. We must protect our seniors and ensure technology is used to help people, not harm them.
We have communicated to women that pain is normal and that it hurts to be a woman. That's wrong. I'm proud to work with Lupita Nyong'o to fight for federal research funding for uterine fibroids and to pass my bipartisan U-FIGHT Act.
Marylanders living under Temporary Protected Status fled life-threatening conditions in search of safety. Now, the Trump Admin is forcing them back into danger. It's cruel, it's wrong, and we should protect our neighbors, not abandon them. We need to pass the SECURE Act.
Welcomed leaders from SURVICE Engineering and BAE Systems FalconWorks to my office. Maryland is leading the way in defense innovation, and partnerships like these strengthen our national security while creating new opportunities for our state's workforce and economy.
Dental care is health care. No one should go without the care they need because they can't afford it. I introduced legislation with @repbarragan.bsky.social to expand dental coverage through CHIP, Medicaid, and Medicare because your health should never depend on your zip code or income.

While families are struggling to afford groceries, Republicans made it harder to get food assistance. Over 4 million people, including an estimated 1.5 million children, have already lost SNAP benefits. The consequences of the "One Big Beautiful Bill" are here and they're ugly.
More than 4 million people nationwide were dropped from the federal food assistance program known as SNAP from July 2025 through March, according to a nonpartisan think tank. Arizona has seen the sharpest decline.
We wore white tonight in solidarity with all the women who couldn’t because of the pain and hell they have silently suffered from uterine fibroids. I was honored to accept the Blossom Award at The White Dress Project's Night in White Gala alongside my friend, Lupita Nyong'o.
This week I spoke at Semafor's World of Work about the future of work and how we ensure innovation creates opportunity for everyone. From AI to digital assets, we must embrace new technologies while protecting workers, expanding pathways to wealth, and keeping America competitive.
Honored to welcome Jack and Jill of America to Baltimore for its 47th National Convention. For generations, Jack and Jill has empowered young people to lead, serve, and make a difference in their communities. At a time when leadership matters more than ever, their work is helping shape the future.
Congress voted in a bipartisan, bicameral way to end this war. The President won’t end it. Prices continue to rise, and more American servicemembers have died. I’ve heard colleagues across the aisle say they’re praying for an end to this war. I urge them to vote for that too.
