House Democrats have been leading the fight to release the Epstein Files and give the American people the truth. We have demanded votes in committees and have repeatedly put Republicans on the record for their shameful insistence on keeping the Epstein Files secret. Release the Epstein files NOW!
The MAGA culture war just claimed another victim: the Corporation for Public Broadcasting. This is a devastating loss—and a clear reminder that slashing funding has real consequences. Public media once had bipartisan support. Now MAGA is trying to silence what informs, educates, and empowers us.
Earlier, I had an insightful and important conversation with Kelley Robinson, President of the Human Rights Campaign, about the challenges the LGBTQ+ community is facing in 2025 and how we can all work together to make equality the standard.
Led a roundtable today with Central Ohio leaders on how Medicare & Medicaid uplift our communities—and how Trump’s One Big Beautiful Bill, now law, threatens it all. The consequences are real and personal. Click to learn more: bit.ly/4mi4Hmd
I was thrilled to welcome the Human Rights Campaign’s American Dreams Tour to Columbus, and share all the work Democrats are doing to stand with the LGBTQ+ community — because the American Dream belongs to everyone. Thanks for visiting us HRC!
In America, we all share something powerful: hope and the courage to dream. That’s why I’m honored to join the Human Rights Campaign’s American Dreams Tour—starting right here in Columbus!
60 years ago today, Medicare & Medicaid became historic wins for health care coverage. Now, Trump’s One Big Ugly Law threatens that progress, slashing Medicaid for kids, seniors, veterans & families. I’ll keep working to protect the care millions count on.
Please see my statement below on the passing of my good friend, Dorothy Teater.
This deadly shooting is yet another tragic reminder that mass shootings are a national crisis. We mourn the lives lost and commend the swift response of law enforcement. America cannot afford to stay silent. It's time to act to end the epidemic of gun violence: www.cnn.com/us/live-news...
The American people deserve a government that works for them, not one that shields pedophiles – no matter how wealthy or well-connected their associates may be. House Republicans must stop covering for Trump and join us to release the Epstein Files now.
Today, I hosted a roundtable with the Central Ohio Labor Council, AFL-CIO, and reps from many of its affiliate unions to discuss how the Trump Admin's attacks on unions will harm Ohioans. 🔗Learn more at the link HERE: bit.ly/4mjEUKx
Interns get the job done, and #BeattyInterns are the best in the business! #HappyInternDay!
Such a pleasure to celebrate our 2025 Summer DC Interns for #InternDay! From fielding constituent calls to running memos back and forth - our interns do what's needed to serve the residents of Ohio's Third. Thank you!
And shoutout to our special guest who decided to join us on the Capitol Steps! 👀
House Republicans shut down Congress early to prevent the release of the Epstein Files.
Now we know why. In MAY, the Justice Department told Donald Trump that his name appears in the files. It's clear as day — Republicans are running scared.
BIG WIN: The GAO just found that the Trump’s Head Start funding freeze was ILLEGAL. Trump’s plan to eliminate the Head Start program—after 60 years of helping children and families—was a heartless attack on Ohio’s future. Now, we know it was against the law, too. 🔗Learn more HERE: bit.ly/40APy7n
The blatant hypocrisy of Trump and Congressional Republicans when it comes to the Epstein files is appalling. We're recessing early because they can't be transparent with the American people.
While Republicans slash the critical programs Americans count on, Democrats are doing the work that really matters:
✅ Engaging in our communities at home,
✅ Fighting to protect the benefits hardworking families rely on.

Trump and Republicans’ massive cuts to PBS and NPR reflect one thing: fear. Fear of Americans having honest dialogue and speaking truth to power. I broke down these outrageous cuts—and more—in my interview with Major Garrett on The Takeout on CBS. 🎥 Watch the full interview HERE: bit.ly/452OTNt
Proud to say that my bill, the OFAC Licensure for Investigators Act, just passed the House unanimously. It would better support to our law enforcement investigations, American consumers, and the financial industry. Most importantly, it holds bad actors accountable. 🎥 my full remarks: bit.ly/3UvlLt3
Mourning the loss of a trailblazing soldier for justice—former Congressman Bill Clay Sr., Missouri’s 1st Black congressman and a founding member of the Congressional Black Caucus. A fierce champion for labor, education & civil rights. His legacy lives on. Rest in power, Congressman Clay. 🕊️
