Heartbroken to hear that U.S. Air Force Tech. Sgt. Tyler Simmons, was one of the six servicemembers killed in a refueling aircraft crash. My heart is with Tyler’s family and the families of the other five servicemembers who were killed, including two other Ohioans. We will remember their sacrifice.
Yesterday, I attended a federal court hearing demanding that I have a voice at the upcoming Kennedy Center meeting, voting rights as an ex-officio board member, and full transparency into Trump's plans to close the Kennedy Center. I will not stop raising my voice. 🔗More here: https://bit.ly/4lLVi7L
My friend, the powerful Rep. Clyburn is a pillar of Congressional leadership. His unmatched institutional knowledge has delivered incredible wins to SC-06. For over thirty years, he has been a faithful steward of this seat, and I look forward to continuing our shared work on behalf of Americans.
I am horrified by today’s attack on Temple Israel in Michigan. I’m thankful the students are safe and praying for the injured security guard’s recovery. Antisemitism must be condemned in every form. We must speak out against this rising hate and stand with our Jewish neighbors.

This week, I toured Franklin Park Conservatory, exploring the new Lance Johnson exhibit and ongoing construction projects. Having supported the Conservatory for many years, I’m proud to continue working to ensure these initiatives bring education and inspiration to families across Franklin County.🌳
Yesterday, I joined Central Ohio small business owners at the Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses Voices “Seat at the Table” tour to learn about their growth and challenges. I’m proud to support these business owners as they create jobs and strengthen our communities.

On Harriet Tubman Day, we honor the abolitionist who fought tirelessly for freedom and justice. Ten years after she was chosen to be on the $20 bill, Americans are still waiting. It’s past time to fulfill this commitment and ensure our currency reflects her legacy and the full story of our nation.

Proud to co-lead H.R. 7688, the DPA Modernization Act, with Rep. Davidson, Rep. Vargas, Rep. Huizenga, and Rep. Nunn, which passed unanimously through FSC markup last week. This bill reauthorizes the Defense Production Act, makes enhancements to the law, and protects Americans in times of crisis.
In honor of the 61st anniversary of the Bloody Sunday, I joined Rep. Terri Sewell and colleagues to march across the Edmund Pettus Bridge. Today’s walk was symbolic, but the fight for civil and voting rights continues. Black history is American history and it must never be forgotten.
On the 61st anniversary of Bloody Sunday, we honor those who bravely crossed the Edmund Pettus Bridge for civil rights and justice. Their courage pushed our nation closer to its promise of democracy and the right to vote for all. I am proud to carry their legacy forward in my work in Congress.
Trump’s rash actions in Iran have launched us into a costly war that has already taken the lives of brave American troops abroad. His overreach can't go unchecked - that's why I voted for the War Powers Resolution. Only Congress has the power to declare war.🔗More here: https://bit.ly/4btJ53O
