House Republicans just caved after the longest shutdown ever. They blocked funding for FEMA, TSA, the Coast Guard, and the Secret Service for over two months, then backed down after getting nothing. Making us less safe while they make life more expensive—an awful way to govern.

Leaded gas has been gone from cars for decades, but not planes.
Rep. Jay Obernolte and I introduced the UNLEADED Act to ensure pilots, instructors, and aviation professionals have the tools they need to help general aviation transition away from leaded fuel.
More on our UNLEADED Act here:

Since Trump decided to attack Iran, people have paid $16 billion more in gas.
That’s $267 million a day.
Or the price of 19 new private jets. Every day.

Today, Trump's right-wing Supreme Court has moved to erode the Voting Rights Act and disenfranchise millions of voters.

Today's Supreme Court's ruling on the Voting Rights Act is yet another Republican attempt to hold onto power, suppress voters and erode America's democracy.
This fight isn't over. Democrats will not let Republicans turn back the clock and undo our country's progress.
This ruling is appalling, but we are not powerless in the face of it. Congress should respond by banning gerrymandering nationally.
This nakedly partisan opinion from the Court's conservative majority is yet another compelling reason to reform the Court.

Their decision today will pave the way for Republican leaders in southern states to disenfranchise Black voters at the federal level but also in state legislatures and local governments. Another desperate attempt to hold onto power.

This right wing Supreme Court has long been hellbent on killing the Voting Rights Act, one of the core achievements of the Civil Rights Movement.

Hegseth gutted the team meant to prevent civilian death. One of the first strikes in this war hit an elementary school. And President Trump continues to threaten Iranian civilians and infrastructure.
This administration isn’t minimizing civilian harm.
For many species, the Endangered Species Act is the difference between extinction and survival.
Last week, House Republicans chose Earth Day to try to gut it, but they didn’t have the votes.
This is a win for wildlife, but it’s not the end of our fight!
This is just horrid and cruel. After racing to hand out massive tax cuts to the wealthiest Americans, the Trump administration is now looking to punish disabled Americans for relying on family support.

Trump has made life more expensive for families across the country—but just how much more are YOU paying because of his inflation?

Almost everything Trump does is to serve his own ego, not the American people.
House Republicans could've funded TSA, the Secret Service, and the Coast Guard by letting us vote on legislation that TWICE passed the Senate unanimously. Instead, they chose to extend the shutdown.
They can end this shutdown today by putting this bill up for a vote. They should.
Good news: the House has passed the Taxpayer Experience Improvement Act, which Rep. David Schweikert and I introduced earlier this year!
Our bill would pave the way to modernize the IRS with better technology to improve service for the American people.
Here's why that's sorely needed:

The Strait of Hormuz is still closed.
Gas prices keep soaring as Americans struggle to make ends meet.
Trump’s reckless war in Iran must end immediately.

Generative AI can be incredibly dangerous. It enables the spread of deepfakes and vast misinformation across our country.
@beyer.house.gov, Rep. James Moylan and I introduced the bipartisan Protecting Consumers from Deceptive AI Act to mandate clear labeling of AI-generated content.
Very thankful for law enforcement protecting the public tonight during the frightening incident at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner.
Remembering all those who were killed in the Armenian genocide, which began on this date 111 years ago. It is important to recognize what happened, hold up the truth, and speak out against injustice. The past is still with us.
Historic: @abigailspanberger.com signed a law to guarantee working Virginians paid family and medical leave!
A huge step forward by the Governor and General Assembly for affordability, for families, for businesses and workers, and a better and stronger Commonwealth.
