Thank you to the State Department’s Los Angeles Passport Agency for their support and to Hub Cities Consortium for hosting us and helping make this event possible. Safe travels everyone!
Had a great Passport Fair in #SouthGate yesterday! We helped nearly 200 community members apply for, or renew, their U.S. passports ahead of the spring and summer travel season.
Trump is using his needless war on Iran as an excuse to restart oil drilling off the coast of California.
American soldiers fight and die overseas while Trump tries to help his Big Oil buddies profit off the war he started. Sick.

This will help activate public spaces and establish safe passages to schools, implement school-based safety programs, and provide services for survivor patients.
We’re bringing money back to our communities to help fund critical violence prevention programs.
I secured over $1 million in federal funding to expand Southern California Crossroads' Community Peace & Safety Initiative.
From responding to natural disasters and home fires to supporting military families and ensuring a safe blood supply, the Red Cross embodies compassion in action. Thank you to the volunteers, donors, and first responders who help keep our neighbors safe and strong every single day!
In March, we recognize the incredible work of the American Red Cross and the volunteers who show up for our communities when it matters most.
Our veterans have seen the cost of war firsthand. Yet, they struggle to pay the rising costs of Trump and Republicans’ cuts to the federal workforce and veterans’ benefits. Shame on Republicans — our veterans deserve better.
At our roundtable in #Paramount, veterans spoke out against the war on Iran and how the Trump administration continues to make life harder for those who served.
During Women’s National History Month, we honor the countless contributions from our women leaders. A shout out to our Women’s Advisory Council and the City of #Paramount for helping make this happen!
Another successful Women’s Empowerment Summit! Our women leaders gathered from all over #CA44 to share their experiences and how they have helped to make a difference in our communities.
These are our family, friends, neighbors, and co-workers who have been detained — most of them have been here for years and have no criminal history. These are the “worst of the worst violent criminals” Trump and Republicans say they’re targeting.
I heard directly from immigrant families at the Dilley detention center how they were ripped away from their children and communities. Children and adults’ health problems are dismissed as non-urgent. This facility waited to make 911 calls when kids were so sick and in distress.
Trump and Republicans are the party of mass deportations. As a result, people are dying in ICE custody and U.S. citizens are wrongfully deported.
ICE released the family to us during our Members’ visit to the facility to conduct congressional oversight. I’m glad the family is out and on their way home.
Let us NOT forget there are many more like them.
Antonio & Caleb, 2 of the Gámez-Cuéllar children, are wonderful high school mariachi musicians who performed at the U.S. Capitol. Their family did everything by the book. They had passed their credible fear interview and had an outstanding asylum case — they never missed a court date or check-in.
Relieved that we were able to bring the Gámez-Cuéllar family back home safely from the Dilley Detention Facility. They should never have been detained in the first place.
If you want to learn more about Congress and have a passion for public service, apply to work with us!
🚨Our office is now accepting applications for Summer 2026 Interns. Apply by March 27!
There are opportunities available for current college students and recent graduates in both Long Beach and Washington, D.C.
