Gas prices are spiraling out of control—and Missouri families are paying the price. It’s time that Congress put an end to the president’s disastrous war in the Middle East before more damage is done. www.kansascity.com/news/local/a...
Whether you are a farmer in Missouri or a shrimp boat captain in Texas, American workers are paying the price for the president’s disastrous war in the Middle East. Congress must step in and put an end to this self-inflicted crisis.
The surge in diesel prices since the Iran war make it almost impossible to turn a profit, shrimp boat captains tell NBC News: "The industry is going to disappear."
It’s no secret that Congress is deeply unpopular with the American people. Last week, I spoke with Fox4KC about the need for Congress to stop the political bickering and start providing bipartisan solutions that will deliver real relief to the public. Watch here: fox4kc.com/politics/4-t...
I'm thankful that no one was seriously harmed at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, and I'm grateful to the law enforcement officers who prevented a tragedy. Political violence has absolutely no place in America—and the perpetrator should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law.
The man suspected in the White House correspondents’ dinner shooting wrote a statement saying he wanted to target members of President Trump’s administration, according to law enforcement officials. Follow more updates here:
As a time when families are already struggling, the president’s disastrous war in the Middle East is costing Missourians across the Show Me State hundreds of millions of dollars at the gas pump. They deserve better.
By accounting for climate change in the management of Superfund sites, we can safeguard American families from the toxic waste contained at sites vulnerable to natural disasters. That’s why I introduced the Preparing Superfund for Climate Change Act. ecomagazine.com/news/policy/...
We all know that Kansas City is one of the most beautiful cities in the world—and our architects are influencing design globally. Enjoyed talking with the National Organization of Black Architects this week about the fantastic work being done in KC and how we can build on this legacy.
As freedom fighters in Ukraine continue to defend their homeland from Russian aggression, my office met with Missourians of the Ukraine Action Summit this week to discuss opportunities to partner with Ukraine and harness their new military technologies. America must continue to stand with Ukraine!
Labor is the backbone of the American economy—and union jobs are the cornerstone upon which the middle class was built. Always happy to meet with NABTU, IBEW, Pipe Fitters Local 533, and other local labor groups to discuss federal investments and new projects that benefit workers in #MO05!
The American people are demanding bipartisan action to lower housing costs in communities across the country. Today, I spoke to the National Council of State Housing Agencies about the Housing for the 21st Century Act and my work to build more affordable housing nationwide.
My legislation would make long overdue investments in civics education at schools across the country, ensuring students receive a thorough and well-rounded education in civics that they can carry throughout their lives.
To guarantee our democracy lives on for generations to come, we must ensure Americans are well-versed in the legal framework of our constitutional republic, as well as our responsibilities as citizens to uphold it. That’s why I introduced the Civics Learning Act. cleaver.house.gov/media-center...
As a mentee of Ewing Kauffman, I'm certain this is what he would have wanted. Thrilled the Royals have announced a plan to remain in Kansas City—which is exactly where they belong! The Royals are an integral part of our community, and they will remain so for future generations of Kansas Citians.
Since our start at the corner of 22nd and Brooklyn, we were founded to give a deserving city its Major League moment. Today, that mission endures as we return downtown, driven by homegrown leadership and a deep commitment to Kansas City and to generations of fans.
David Scott was a lifelong public servant on behalf of the people of Georgia, a trailblazer in Congress, a serious student of the bible, and a dear friend to myself and countless others. My prayers are with his loved ones during this difficult time. May his memory be an everlasting blessing.
Georgia Democratic Rep. David Scott has died. The longtime lawmaker was the first Black chair of the House Agriculture Committee.
Between the Housing for the 21st Century Act and the 21st Century ROAD to Housing Act, Congress is on the precipice of enacting the most meaningful housing legislation in decades. We cannot fail to get this done for the American people.
As hardworking families struggle to keep up with rising housing costs, it’s imperative that Congress enact comprehensive housing reforms that will increase supply and drive down prices. This week, I talked to the National Association of Mortgage Brokers about my work to do just that.
Earth is the only home we have—and saving our planet takes all of us. On Earth Day & every day, we must act to protect our air, water, and public lands for the future. @housedemocrats.bsky.social will keep working to protect our planet by advancing clean energy & investing in a sustainable future.
Inflation is currently running higher than it was when President Trump entered office. Whether he admits it or not, Americans feel the pain of the president’s reckless tariffs and disastrous war in the Middle East every time they fill up their tank or go to the grocery store.
KERNEN: By the time Biden left, inflation was down to about 3%-- TRUMP: No it wasn't. It was down to 5%. And the reason it was down was because I had won the election and it started falling after I won the election and I started getting prices down from right after November 5
Just as House Republicans fought for months to prevent the release of the Epstein Files, they are now doing their best to block an honest & thorough investigation into Epstein & his associates. Democrats will not relent in the fight to bring justice to the victims. www.politico.com/news/2026/04...
