Rep. Gerry Connolly was a beloved father, husband, friend, and public servant. He was a fierce defender of federal workers, especially as they faced increasing attacks. My @housedemocrats.bsky.social colleagues and I will continue the fight in his honor.
If the GOP says they won’t touch Medicaid, they can prove it by passing my amendment.
The GOP continues to insist their budget bill won’t hurt Medicaid. I say—prove it.
The House Rules Committee is meeting right now under the cover of darkness with a hearing that began at 1 a.m. I offered an amendment to protect healthcare.
Arica. Carol Ann. Bethany. These are just 3 Indy residents who have contacted my office because cuts to Medicaid and food assistance put their lives at risk. I implore my colleagues to think of these women — and 14 million others who stand to lose healthcare because of this heartless bill.
My office will be in Pike Township tomorrow for Congress on Your Corner! Stop by to connect with my team for assistance with federal agencies, navigating government programs, or resolving federal casework.
The Black Caucus and @usprogressives.bsky.social stand with our brave colleague. We will not be intimidated.
The Trump administration has charged an elected congresswoman with assault — for doing her job.
@replamonica.bsky.social was conducting oversight at an ICE detention facility. That's what every Member of Congress was elected to do.
What else is this administration trying to hide?
Republicans scheduled a budget committee hearing for Wednesday at 1:00am.
They are trying to take away healthcare from 14 million Americans, including veterans, children, and people with disabilities – and they’re doing it in the dead of night.
I’m thinking of and praying for President Biden and his family during this tough time.
Too many families know what it’s like to face a cancer diagnosis. I’m wishing the entire Biden family strength and courage.
The MAGA Republican budget cuts:
Medicaid – 14 million Americans would lose health coverage
SNAP – when 80% of SNAP households include a child, senior, or disabled person
Scam protections – just days after Hoosier families were victims of a phishing scheme.
I’m voting NO.
I'm voting against the MAGA Republican budget.
The Bipartisan Infrastructure Law made historic investments in roads, bridges, transit, and rail. Let’s keep it going!
Today, @transportdems.bsky.social welcome House colleagues to share what matters to their communities for the next surface reauthorization bill. www.youtube.com/live/fWMqy-f...
This is what democracy looks like.
Republicans’ budget would cut healthcare for 14 million Americans. The pressure is working, but we have to keep it up to stop these extreme Medicaid cuts.
Happy Mother's Day to all the amazing moms who uplift our families and strengthen our communities. Thank you for all you do. Today, we celebrate you.
Excited to welcome the newest Indianapolis Colts rookies to our great city! Best of luck as rookie camp kicks off today - can’t wait to see what this class brings to the team and our community. Go @colts.bsky.social!
By opting out, the state is denying money that was set aside for Indiana and denying food to our kids. That money doesn’t get returned to our community for a different program – it goes back to Washington.
Shameful.
Indiana’s state government refused to accept federal money to provide kids with free meals during the summer.
Women veterans often go unrecognized, which is why my office’s Sheila Corcoran Hoosier Women Hero Award honors outstanding women veterans in our community. Congrats to Kay Ross for receiving this month’s award!
What are Republicans doing today?
Not lowering costs. Not creating jobs. They’re not even promoting “efficiency.”
They’re trying to rename the Gulf of Mexico to Gulf of America.
It’s theater, not real governing.
Democrats filed a discharge petition to force a House vote to protect Medicaid and SNAP.
We only need a handful of Republicans to join us and save working families. Just a handful.
Republicans should answer to their constituents, not Donald Trump.
