It appears no one was seriously injured at a shooting at a Michigan synagogue, but the fear and trauma caused by violence is real and damaging—not just for those present, but for loved ones and the entire community.
Gas prices have skyrocketed in the last week because of Trump’s war against Iran. It’s already disrupted the global oil supply – and if this war continues, it will impact the cost of nearly all goods.   No more endless foreign wars.
Communities of color and women's voting rights are under attack. The SAVE Act would create new barriers that make it harder for many Americans to vote. I wrote in the Indianapolis Recorder about why we must protect access to the ballot.
The U.S. lost 92,000 jobs lost in February while prices climb and families struggle to keep up with rising costs. President Trump promised lower costs on day one, but job losses are doing nothing to make life more affordable for working people.
The United States should not be dragged into another senseless war without the consent of the American people.   That’s why I’m a cosponsor of the Iran War Powers Resolution and will vote YES today. The American people deserve debate and transparency before sending our troops into harm’s way.
Muslim leaders are present in every aspect of public service—often working behind the scenes to shape policy and improve lives. Every year, I co-host a Congressional Iftar with my sisters @repilhan.bsky.social, @reprashida.govpeeps.us, and @replsimon.bsky.social to honor these public servants.
President Trump continues to put our troops and civilians in danger. I’m a cosponsor of a War Powers Resolution to reign in the president’s reckless and illegal wars. I’m calling on House leadership to immediately bring it to the floor next week.
Last night, Trump touted a new retirement savings plan to help millions of working Americans.  Except it's not a new plan. It's Democrats' plan—and President Biden already signed it into law in 2022.  Beware of Trump taking Democrats' accomplishments and passing them off as his own.
Enough. Survivors deserve accountability. They deserve the full truth— not a redacted version designed to protect the wealthy and powerful. I stand with survivors. Release the Epstein files, in full.
I've repeatedly voted against ICE funding under Trump's cruel regime. Government funding should be used for housing, combatting food deserts, and improving our roads—not to detain children and murder U.S. citizens.
I will not participate in a spectacle that doesn’t address the real issues and challenges facing our country. I will not help fill the audience to create any impression of support for Trump’s failed policies.
Families are stretched thin by higher prices. Communities are disturbed by fatal immigration enforcement tactics. And working people are watching the wealthiest Americans benefit while the middle class is left behind.
