Prices are soaring, deaths in ICE custody are at record highs, and Trump's DHS refuses to implement even the most basic reforms—even after its actions contributed to the deaths of two American citizens in broad daylight.
This website exploits a vulnerable moment in women's lives to advance an ideological agenda rather than providing the medically accurate, evidence-based information that pregnant women deserve.
That’s why @repbonamici.bsky.social, @repemiliasykes.bsky.social, @repdelbene.bsky.social, and I are leading 83 of our colleagues in demanding answers from HHS Secretary RFK Jr. about the operation of Moms.gov.
Moms.gov claims to support for expectant mothers, but instead directs users to anti-abortion centers that have a documented history of providing misleading reproductive health information and collecting sensitive personal data. www.theguardian.com/commentisfre...
Today, I join @reprocaucus.bsky.social and @demwomencaucus.bsky.social to recommit to safeguarding access to contraception. Everyone deserves the freedom to decide if, when, and how to build a family.
61 years ago, Griswold v. Connecticut struck down a law criminalizing birth control & affirming that politicians have no place in Americans' private reproductive decisions.
📢 Attention high school students in the San Gabriel Valley! Applications are now open to join my Congressional Youth Advisory Council! This opportunity allows you, our future leaders, to work directly with staff and diverse community leaders to address issues facing youth in our community.
I have visited Adelanto and spoken with detainees about the inhumane conditions they face. This attempt to cover up neglect and abuse in ICE detention is indefensible.
People are dying in ICE detention at the highest rates in decades, and the Trump Administration is doing everything possible to dodge accountability. This policy was adopted after a former Adelanto detainee died after leaving ICE custody.
Exclusive: In a memo sent to ICE employees, acting director David Venturella said the agency is eliminating its requirement to report deaths that occur within 30 days of people being released from its custody.
This month, we honor the lives lost to gun violence. Three years ago, our community was devastated by the Monterey Park shooting, the deadliest shooting in Los Angeles County history, which took the lives of 11 beloved neighbors. Not a day goes by that we do not mourn their loss.
At a time when Americans are struggling with high grocery costs, Republicans' 2027 Agriculture funding bill is attacking federal programs that support farmers and help feed hungry families, all to pay for tax cuts for billionaires.
He said inflation would be temporary. It wasn't. The evidence is everywhere: higher prices for gas, groceries, electricity, & other necessities that families rely on every day. President Trump said he doesn't think about Americans' financial situations. The American people deserve leaders who do.
At today's @waysmeanscmte.bsky.social hearing, I challenged USDT Secretary Scott Bessent on the growing affordability crisis facing American families.
Finally. Today, the House passed a bipartisian War Powers Resolution to stop Trump’s illegal war. Now, I urge my colleagues in the Senate to end this reckless war once and for all.
The House passed a resolution to block President Trump from ordering further strikes on Iran, ratcheting up pressure on the administration to find a way to end the unpopular war.
I introduced an amendment to delay the bill until this Administration provides transparency on "Defend the Spend." Republicans refused to allow a vote on it. Until we get answers, we should not be expanding President Trump's ability to interfere with childcare funding families depend on.
While parents struggle with the high cost of childcare, Republicans are advancing a bill to make it even easier for Trump to withhold funding from families and childcare providers in states he doesn't like--something Trump is already trying to do using his shady "Defend the Spend" scheme.
