Today, we honor the legacy of César E. Chávez, a champion for farmworkers and justice.
As the son of a farmworker myself, I’m proud to introduce a House Resolution to recognize March 31 as César E. Chávez Day. His work continues to inspire the fight for workers' rights and equality.

Eid Mubarak to all who celebrate on the Central Coast!
As the month of Ramadan comes to a close, I want to wish you a joyous Eid al-Fitr! May this day bring you and your loved ones joy and peace.
While Trump & the GOP try to erase trans people, I'm proud to stand with my colleagues in the Equality Caucus as we celebrate #TransDayOfVisibility.
Trans people deserve the freedom to live openly, make their own medical decisions, & be protected under the law.

In today’s Democratic Daily Download, @dpcc.house.gov Chair @debbiedingell.house.gov explains how Trump, Musk and Republicans are breaking Social Security and what Democrats are doing to protect Americans’ earned benefits.
Organizations like Indivisible Santa Barbara are leading the charge in defending our constitutional rights against the Trump Administration's ongoing attacks.
Glad I got to sit down with them to discuss how we can unite our efforts to push back and safeguard our rights.

Had a productive meeting with the SBC Workforce Development Board Executive Director and staff to discuss ways we can collaborate with Vandenberg Space Force Base to create more job opportunities for spouses of servicemembers.

Had a wonderful time honoring Lynda Fairly for her continued commitment to the Carpinteria Children's Project!
Carpentaria Children's Project prepares local kids to enter kindergarten ready to thrive, and ensures parents have the support they need along the way!
I’m leading 69 House Democrats in demanding full accountability from the Trump Administration for their incompetence and carelessness in handling sensitive and classified information that endangered our servicemembers.

The Trump admin’s plan to freeze family planning grants is a direct attack on reproductive health care, especially for low-income communities.
I’m going to fight alongside my @reprocaucus.bsky.social colleagues to stop this gutting of critical health care services.
Trump & his National Security Council twisting the narrative that this wasn’t classified info is a slap in the face to our servicemembers who risk their lives for this country.
They deserve stronger leadership. I will demand full accountability, starting with the Secretary of Defense's resignation.
Imagine putting in the same hours and the same effort, only to be handed a fraction of the paycheck.
That’s the reality for women in America.
On Equal Pay Day, I stand with the @demwomencaucus.bsky.social in fighting for fair wages for all women.

The Foodbank of Santa Barbara County serves more than 110,00+ people per month on the Central Coast — yet the harmful Republican budget just slashed the funding they rely on.
"Government efficiency" shouldn't mean taking food from children and families in need.
🚨 Last chance to nominate a local woman on the Central Coast who's making a real impact!

BREAKING update - Dems fighting back against Trump’s dismantling of public education. More on today’s Democratic Daily Download ⬇️
As a member of the House Armed Services Committee, I will be demanding answers and full accountability. Is this really the 'most qualified' cabinet the Senate confirmed? Unbelievable.
This article completely exposes the Trump Administration's incompetent and irresponsible methods of handling our national security.
🚨 Is there a local woman on the Central Coast whose impact is inspiring others?
Nominate her for the 2025 Congressional Women of the Year and help us shine a light on the remarkable contributions she’s making to our community!

15 years ago today, President Obama and Democrats signed the transformative Affordable Care Act into law, providing quality health care to nearly 24 million Americans.
It remains a lifeline for families across the country, and I’m committed to protecting it from any Republican efforts to repeal it.
