Horrified to see another public servant targeted with violence. This time Rep. Ilhan Omar was charged at and sprayed with an unknown substance during a town hall event in Minneapolis.
Today we remember the millions of Jewish people and other innocent lives who were murdered during the Holocaust. On International Holocaust Remembrance Day and every day, we recommit to standing up against antisemitism and ensure that the horrors of the Holocaust are never forgotten.
I call on the Senate to block the DHS funding package next week, and my Republican colleagues to support our Articles of Impeachment against Secretary Noem. ICE’s brutality must be stopped.
ICE murdered another American citizen in Minneapolis. DHS and ICE are clearly out-of-control and they need to be held accountable for their horrific actions in Minnesota and beyond.
I’m proud to announce that nominations are now open for the 2026 Women of the Year! 🎉 Every year, we honor extraordinary women across the Central Coast who strengthen our communities through leadership, service, and compassion.
ICE detained a 5-year-old kid and used him as bait to capture his parents. This is beyond appalling. Today the House is voting to increase funding for DHS and ICE. I'm a firm NO.
Trump whining about a Nobel Peace Prize while floating a Greenland takeover would be laughable if it weren’t so dangerous. His reckless tariffs are driving up costs, and his brutality is ripping through our communities nationwide.
Military service comes with sacrifice, but family separation shouldn’t be one of them. That’s why I joined Rep. Gil Cisneros to introduce the PROTECT Military Families Act, ensuring spouses, parents, & children of our servicemembers have stability at home.
ICE shot and killed an American civilian in Minneapolis. This is horrifying and a direct result of Trump's brutal immigration policies, which have inflicted so much chaos and terror nationwide. I'm calling for a full investigation to ensure those responsible are held accountable.
Five years ago today, the U.S. Capitol was violently attacked in an effort to overturn the will of the American people and disrupt the peaceful transfer of power. On this solemn anniversary, we remember the lives lost and the officers who bravely defended our Capitol.
2025 was a busy year, and I’m proud of what we accomplished for the Central Coast: 🗳️ 30 bills introduced 📝 372 bills cosponsored 📃 4 Carbajal-championed bills signed into law 💼 1,200+ constituent cases closed 🏫 6 town halls held 💰 $4M+ returned directly to constituents
As the Affordable Care Act tax credits are on the verge of expiring, Speaker Johnson canceled votes and is sending Members home early. @housedemocrats.bsky.social have a bipartisan solution waiting for a vote and we're calling on him to immediately bring it to the floor.
The Constitution is clear: only Congress has the power to declare war. I’m supporting this War Powers Resolution to prevent the Trump Administration from starting an unauthorized war with Venezuela and to rein in their dangerous overreach.
Donald Trump has been talking about airstrikes, troops on the ground, and naval or air blockades. These are acts of war. But the Constitution is very clear: only Congress can declare war. So today I’m forcing a vote on my War Powers Resolution to say clearly that we reject this madness.
