The truth: The first duty of American elected officials is to defend and protect the Constitution of the United States.
Trump lie: “Democrats were letting non-citizens vote in our elections.”
The truth: Non-citizen voting is already illegal and incredibly rare. You’re more likely to be struck by lightning on your way to the polls than to cast a ballot alongside a non-citizen.
Trump lie: “We’re deporting violent criminals.”
The truth: Less than 14% of those arrested by ICE in 2025 had violent criminal records.
Trump lie: "We are protecting Medicaid with commonsense reforms.”
The truth: Trump signed into law the largest cut to Medicaid in history.
Trump lie: “Immigrants are costing the American taxpayers more money."
The truth: Immigrants generated about $1.7 trillion in economic activity in 2023 and paid roughly $652 billion in local, state, and federal taxes.
Trump lie: “The One Big Beautiful Bill is lowering costs for the American people."
The truth: 22 million people are facing drastic increases to their healthcare costs, thanks to Trump and Republicans’ ACA tax credit cancellation.
Tonight, I’ll be listening to Trump do the only thing he knows how to do: lie to the American people.

WIC provides food and lifesaving benefits for over 6 million women and children. I toured the WIC office in Baldwin Park to see all of the critical services they provide. I will continue to fight to protect this necessary program to keep women and kids safe and healthy.
